so Darren Cahill just said that coaching during matches is a bit of a new thing for the ATP but for the women everyones been doing it for years.. i assume he means there was regular coaching on the WTA even when it was against the rules, and its much less predominant on the ATP.. my question is why? is this sexist? whats the reasoning why coaching is much more dominate on the WTA than ATP

Coaching during the matches has been legal on the WTA Tour (except on the GS tournaments that are not organized by the WTA) for a long time. A coach has been allowed to go to a player's bench (probably once per set).

i think he means illegal coaching from the stands has been much more prevalent on the WTA than the ATP but maybe im wrong

The WTA allowed and the ATP didn't, but in slams, run by the ITF, no coaching was allowed for both sexes until January this year.
