Coaching Idea's

Hi guys.

Been using the forum for ages now but never as a reference or resource for coaching material, mainly for racket, string and player discussion.

I have seen the Tennis Tips/Instruction forum and been in here - form reading players are asking about specific shots or a specific aspect of a shot.

I thought this would be a great place to share ideas for particularly good warm up games, drills and conditioned points ideas to be shared with coaches around the globe.

What are the coaches thoughts on this ?

Hey Joe

What do you suggest as a LTA Level 3 coach as I presume you are currently coaching .

Sorry I misread your post ? I agree I think there should be a coaches forum

I think you have a great idea. I've found in my 35 years teaching tennis, (of which included 28 seasons of coaching boys and girls tennis teams), that the vast majority of high school coaches have limited experience, yet want to do more for their team and players.

One reason I wrote COACHING MASTERY was to share both mine and my father's experience in coaching some of the most successful high school teams in the U.S. Where we averaged more than 40 players on each team, coaches often wondered how we could attract so many players. While we competed in the most competitive tennis environment, (so. calif.), coaches wanted to know how we could effectively coach such large numbers as well as remain one of the top teams.

I think a coaching forum would be priceless, a place for coaches to network and share ideas.

One thing I will mention too, I've just filmed over 25 hours of a new DVD called "Coaching Unlimited" for TennisOne.com. This program will be available in the coming weeks. But, what makes this coaching instructional DVD special, is it is done with real players, in a real coaching environment, showing coaches proven ways to build a great program as well as offering the best drills I've found to produce skilled players along with the "Advanced Foundation" principles I've discussed in my books and in my articles.

It would be great to have a place here where we can talk about many of these thngs.

I hope the powers at TennisWareHouse might take a serious look at adding this forum.

Great post!

Thanks CoachingMastery!

That was the idea, hopefully we can get something started among the community and start to share the wealth!
