Game start time now apparently not until 5:30. Edit: Now apparently 4:40

4 1/2 hour delay if that's the case. And it was barely midway through the 2nd quarter when they stopped.

I'm basically getting paid for 3 games in 1. Cannot complain with Christmas coming up.

Apparently my towns power is all out anyway so I'd rather be here doing nothing & getting paid than at home doing nothing and getting nothing.

What's your gig there?

Work with the Lansing State Journal though I might be moving to the Detroit Free Press after football season, we'll see. Also got an offer at a paper in Arizona (Phoenix), might be time to finally escape the harsh Mid-West winters.

I do a bit of everything, production assistance + editing (behind the scenes type stuff), copy editing, and even some beat reporting. Good enough gig at least to get up in the press box away from the elements and free food. Can't complain!

I was in Ann Arbor for the MSU-Michigan game and I'll be going to the Shoe for OSU-MSU as well.

(I graduated from MSU 2 years ago)

An osu struggling but a long way to go
The other OSU and OU will be struggling to keep the other team's points under three digits. They played twice on the hardwood last winter...68-66 is easily reachable; 96-92 isn't out of question if it goes OT.

Sparty does it again! For what was supposed to be a rebuilding year, winning @ Michigan and beating a playoff attempting Penn State...very successful year.

My heartbeat is finally back to normal after Clemson escaped NC State. Congrats to Sir R and Iowa, that was quite a shock! I'm watching the end of the Oklahoma in-state basketball game, oh wait why are they wearing helmets?

We just need a Hokie hoedown in Miami for @Kevin T to get all sassified.

What are your thoughts on this game? They get to play in "the shoe". Can they hold off Penn State?

Of course, OSU get's killed next week at Iowa (that's just a given).
When the Hawkeyes destroy Ohio State and Wisconsin back to back, the Big 10 is out of the playoffs too.
I was worried about Iowa before the season started, mostly because I thought we would have to deal with the voodoo night Kinnick atmosphere, but I'm just worried about the letdown. This is the perfect setup for an upset.
Who would have thought two teams from the cornfields of Iowa would have and could have so much impact on the Final Four race???.
Do I sound like r2 talking about his Hawkeyes or what? :)
:D

Saturday might have been the craziest day of college football EVER! From that long delay in Lansing due to lightning in November to an offensive explosion from a team that scored 10 points in an OT loss to weak Northwestern less than a month ago to a Bedlam game with pinball scores, just the first of two games with over 1,000 yards of combined offense (USC scored twice late for a 49-35 win over Arizona in the nightcap).

Just plain wack!!!

That was a tough one for you.
'Twas quite rough. :) I expect one thing from our offense...not to be a turnover machine. I expect one thing from our defense...to stop the run. Neither happened. Two INTs and two fumbles and the D allowed 219 yards on the ground on 35 carries...6+ yards/carry. :( I thought Tech was getting the momentum when they scored to make it 14-10 but then another turnover.

With Clemson getting through NC State, I think the ACC is their's for the taking. I also think if ND takes care of the ball, they should beat Miami. Props to Miami for the win but I don't see anything special there. Clemson straight up outplayed us at every phase of the game. Miami beat us by our own mistakes. Similar passing numbers, 3rd and 4th down conversions, Tech had time of possession. Turnovers were absolutely brutal and you can't do that on the road.

The last few weeks have been fantastic/exciting/surprising. Can't wait for next week and rivalry week. As of today:

Bama
Georgia
Clemson
ND

A Southern+1 sort of ACC'er sweep. :)

I would quite like Miami to win this week.
Generally not a Notre Dame fan but would love to see them in the mix this year...and would love to see Bama (though not a fan of them, either) hand out a whoopin'. :)

As much as I dislike Georgia fans, they are long-suffering and we are close friends of a married couple of GA grads. It would be nice to see them pull it off for the first time since the Herschel Walker days.

Crowbar week upcoming, where we separate the men from the boys:

ND at Miami

Georgia at Auburn

@r2473 at Wisconsin

TCU at Oklahoma

Michigan State at Ohio State

Alabama at Mississippi State

and the only top 8 team playing a cupcake, Clemson hosts FSU.

Should be must see TV!

I'm still hoping for USC to get into the playoffs but I'm kind of bummed out about it because it requires misfortunes to befall many programs ahead of them in order to do so. If that happens, it wouldn't be USC earning a berth but just getting a lucky windfall, lol. :)

First (of many???) top 10 upsets this weekend as Stanford unleashes their Big Love on Washington to run over their slim chances for the Final Four.

Guess that spread was justified after all. Spartans showing their youth and OSU giving MSU the treatment they gave Michigan a few yrs ago after MSU squeaked by them. Lewerke picked a bad day to play the worst game of his career.

Ohio State probably really tick their fans off lol. They always lose some game and then destroy their next opponent. Wonder why they play scared all the time when the playoff is on the line.

Auburn defense is smothering Georgia and their offense finally put the ball in the end zone for a 16-7 lead.

Talk is cheap and early but if they could run the table with a win in both The Iron Bowl and the SEC title game, War Damn Eagle could be in the driver's seat for the playoffs despite two losses.

Georgia getting waxed makes me feel a little less crappy about MSU losing so badly . At the end of the day I didn't think they'd win any of the PSU U of M and Ohio State games. They ended up winning 2 out of 3. I really cannot complain too much. Today was a disaster though.
