Collins accuses Swiatek of being hypocritical after a tense encounter

Had to look up NPC. Thank you Urban Dictionary for the acronym assist.
+1. NPC is a very interesting insult.
Going forward, I will use it in my daily vocabulary to describe people I am surrounded by who certainly deserve it.
I will use it in its original English version to cause a bigger impression.

I only need to look at Collins face to know I'd not ever want to share a court with her.
Looks like she'll be mean and arrogant toward me, but luckily she's retiring!

get over yourself, how dare you call me unhinged this is not a grammar forum so I don’t need advice from an unemployed loser I didn’t make a comment about her skin so not racist like you did I just stated facts so do shut up. Btw since you said iga got booted in the majors lost in the first round of us open and didn’t make the second week of the majors this year and abuses journalists and ball kids , hypocrite. As a female I can conclude not only you’re racist but sexier and a stalker. Btw I am not European but from a country where we have great tennis players that don’t act like we are from the trailer park so get stuffed. She even bullied my girl Barty she said this in her book but she beat her in ao open thank goodness. Karma is sweet
I’ve got to read that Ash Barty book. I bet there is some fascinating stuff in there that explains more about when she left tennis to play cricket and what drew her back into tennis.

What was the context for Collins bullying Barty? Did this occur during Barty’s AO run or was this earlier in their careers?

I just started reading it recently a good read, she made comments about how Collin's behaviour in the second set like cheering her errors that it irriated her immensely and she said it was unnecessary and nasty. The fact Barty was 1-5 down and came back in spite of this was phenomenal. So sad she retired but she is happy in her life and that’s the main thing.

Agree totally. That was an epic comeback, and at a home major no less. I’m going to pick that Barty book up. Thanks for the heads-up.

I also forgot to add she loves iga and was hoping to play her rather than Collins in the final
That’s another reason why it was sad to see Barty retiring imo. That matchup with Swiatek was pretty spicy. Barty had a lot of tools that were very effective against Iga and it was a very nice contrast of styles and personality on court.

Not going to lie, I’ve always secretly been holding out hope that Barty would again come out of retirement lol. But I think at this point she seems so happy with everything else she has going on outside of tennis. Maybe we will see her in a full-time coaching role with a Top WTA player one day.

yes, as an Australian it was said many times in the Australian media that Barty didn't enjoy the travelling and being away from home hence the retirement and she has said she will not be coming back. I wouldn't either when you have a man that adores you and a beautiful little boy, but you can check her instagram she always develops tennis in australia especially for the indigenious community. She is great :)

I do agree with the Iga rivalry too, it was intriguing especially on the clay which was close, and Iga even said she had so much respect for Ash and for her variety hopefully she can include so of that in her game next year as she will need it to win AO and especially Wimbledon.
