I've been the 2022 Ezone Tour (315g unstrung) with RPM Blast 17g strung at 50 lbs since last summer. Continuously competing in leagues and was happy to see a 7 game winning streak. Overall happy with my game and my racket setup.
However I was super intrigued by the Wilson Shift. Especially with Wilson opening a store in Santa Monica and one of my coaches using it for lessons.
I decided to give the Wilson Shift a try. Here are my racket setups:
2022 EZT:
Wilson Shift (factory specs, I didn't test the actual weight):
My findings compared to EZT:
If you use an Ezone or Ezone Tour today, I think you will enjoy the Shift. It's at least worth a try.

I decided to give the Wilson Shift a try. Here are my racket setups:
2022 EZT:
- 315g unstrung
- RPM blast orange 17g at 50 pounds
- Added Wilson leather under grip
- Yonex white overgrip
- Balance: 4 pts HL (plus leather grip)
- 16x19 string pattern
- 24.5mm beam width
Wilson Shift (factory specs, I didn't test the actual weight):
- 315g unstrung
- RPM blast orange 17g at 50 pounds
- Added Wilson leather under grip
- Yonex white overgrip
- Balance: 6 pts HL (plus leather grip)
- 18x20 string pattern
- 23.5mm beam width
My findings compared to EZT:
- The feel on contact is identical from the baseline. Probably more related to strings but I thought it was interesting that they were pretty similar.
- The EZT string bed interesting looks similar to the Wilson Shift superficially despite the Shift having a tighter string bed
- The Shift (even at 315g) feels much more whippy and maneuverable than the EZT. I also noticed in the video of my play that the racket head speed is noticeably quicker than the EZT. May be attributed to being more headlight.
- Shift definitely has more free top spin. Likely also related to the faster headspeed I was getting.
- EZT is more consistent and predictable. Especially at the net when playing volleys.
If you use an Ezone or Ezone Tour today, I think you will enjoy the Shift. It's at least worth a try.
