Congrats to Marcos Giron on winning his first ATP title at the age of 30 in Newport. He saved one match point in a tightly contested three set battle with fellow American 19 year Michelsen. Nice to see someone battling for a decade finally get over the hump.

Michelsen i relatively talented for a 19 yr old but this match showed that perhaps he does not have the mentality to become a consistent top 10 or even top 20 player in the future.

Thats a long time ago. Since then Karue turned pro again. They hit from time to time and share an athletics coach.
Actually i think you should congratulate the athletics coach. Few months ago you could see and feel how much harder Giron begann to hit and that for a much longer time. He is much fitter and that works out. I am a fan of his.

Always rooted for Marcos … honest pro who deserves a break. Hoping this success is a springboard for more. I watch a lot of Karues progress, he’s one I also hope continues to rise.
