Well, what can one say about this man anymore? If you thought winning a slam as the 17th seed, returning from a six month injury enforced layoff at 35 beating 4 top 10 opponents along the way including his arch rival in the final from a break down in the fifth set couldn't be topped, he followed it up with his first Sunshine Double in 11 years, won a record eighth Wimbledon title without dropping a set for the first time. A lull followed in the North American HC swing due to a back injury suffered in the final at Montreal and it showed in his US Open campaign. If you thought that injury was one too many at the age of 36, well, you were wrong. He returned with a very strong campaign in Shanghai including a high quality win over Del Potro and another thrashing of Nadal. Won his customary title in his hometown Basel. A rather unexpected loss followed in the semi finals of the ATP Finals against one of his whipping boys Goffin and concerns were once again raised over whether more big titles on HC were a bridge too far for the old man, whether the effects of a long and successful season would finally be felt in 2018? And here you are..... The old man is at it again. Defending the Australian Open title he won in dramatic fashion last year in another five set final at the age of 36, winning a 20th Grand Slam at the age of 36 for the loss of just 2 sets in the tournament, his third after turning 35 and is well placed to become the oldest holder of the ATP World No.1 ranking, albeit for a short period. It is the first grand slam title he has defended in nearly 10 years since the 2008 US Open. Roger Federer continues to raise the limits of human possibility. The greatest tennis player of all time and definitely the greatest sportsperson I've witnessed.

As a Rafa fan, well another Australian Open campaign which felt so near, yet so far. The cursed slam continues to elude Rafa. Hopefully he takes inspiration from his great rival and keeps fighting for the glory.

Wholehearted congratulations to all Federer fans on yet another astounding success story.

If only more fans would be like you instead of the troll-fiesta that rules this place ;)

I hope Nadal (along with others like Djokovoc, Murray, NishikorI, Wawrinka) come back stronger and HEALTHY (being the most important word here). We already have a few promising youngsters in Shapovalov, Chung, etc so the tour will be infinitely more interesting with them in it.

Thanks for the kind words. But, I feel your curse. Fed was sort of cursed at the FO too. I feel he is much better on clay than only 1 FO title, he was just unlucky to be stopped by the clay god.
