Congratulations to Djokovic and his fans.
There were ups and down in the semi-final, but his mental toughness, and the tennis he executed when it counted most, demands respect.
The match reminded me a lot of the classic 2014 Wimbledon final that Djokovic played against Federer. Not in game style, but in the sheer amount of mental pressure Novak was able to withstand in key moments without it affecting his play negatively. Novak's technical ability was so high, that it could not break down in unimaginably critical moments. For fans of tennis on a more technical level, this is a point of fascination.
This semi-final win may also fulfill a similar role as the Wimbledon 2014 final in completely turning around a mysterious low point in his career and ushering in another phase of success similar to 2015.
I'd also like to acknowledge a great many of the Djokovic fans on here who remained respectful and circumspect as Djokovic gradually started piecing the parts of his game back together earlier in the year. Deep down they must have been confident, but they didn't overhype him or prematurely anticipate results, even as he appeared to be very close to his best level again.
I tried to find a GIF of that sliding passing shot he hit deep in fifth set, but couldn't find a link. I think you all remember the shot, though.
Looking forward to seeing more Nadal vs Djokovic this year and next (hopefully with a win for Nadal somewhere). I also hope Murray was watching and was inspired seeing Novak come out of a very dark period of injury and form loss.
