You just can't learn when to shut up!Roger Federer will regain the number 1 ranking. I just hope he doesn't cry.
from:I hope there's no more doubt
Roger's gonna whip Rafa! Rainer is giving Rafa a tough set? Rainer? I hope none of you bet on Rafa because although he'll probably get to the final, he's gonna lose to Roger quite convincingly.
It was close enough to go either way.
DF is right, I have been on the money this year. Did you forget about the curse of 13 so quickly? Nobody, and I mean nobody, believed Roger would beat Rafa at their next meeting after the AO. Nobody except the guy who called it.
Manly tears of joy of course, like at the french..i think his trophy ceremonies are the most heartwarming....then again he's been in the majority of them for half a ****ing decade now but still...and he pretty much tears up all time even at last years USOI don't think Fed will cry. He's been doing great lately.
Regardless If Roddick wins on Sunday or not Fed is #1 again so Rickson isn't really going on a limb here.![]()
then its best you star threads without reasoning, look what happened when you tried to use your brain
and another thing, i'm not saying roddick is definitely winning this, i'm giving him a fighting chance, the guy is playing the best tennis of his life this year
Sorry but can someone please educate me? I remember not long ago reading a post that says even if Federer wins this this this and that he'll unlikely regain no.1 right away, but now he'll do it just by winning Wimbledon? Something changed with the ranking system?
The way I understand it,if Fed wins on Sunday he becomes #1 right away,on the other hand if he loses he'll become #1 once the points from Olympics are taken off(in July I think) but it is certain he'll get #1 spot either way(for how long it remainst to be seen).Hope this helps.Sorry but can someone please educate me? Oh, so Nadal loses full 2k points while Federer gains like 500?Well, Nadal didn't play, so.......
i think only Lendl after Wilanders three slam yearHow many have ended year number one after lost it? curious, wanna check the history
I won't get into flame wars discussion but while there are certainly trolling threads started by Fed fans how exactly is this one of them? From what I understand Fed wil be #1 whether he wins the final against A-Rod or not.I wouldn't have problems if Murray reached #1 and his fans made a thread to congratulate him, same for Novak(heck if he ever gets there I'll probably be so excited I'll make the thread). That's what sucks about these boards.
If such a thread was started by N_F about Nadal, gj011 about Djoker or Maximo about Murray all the pack of rabid *******s would be ganging up all over them calling them all sort of nasty epithets.
Sorry, guys, but for us neutrals you certainly don't look any different, simply there are more of you here and you have the support of the mods, that's it. It is ironic watching you call other people classless, trolls and ****s and asking for bans. Get a mirror.
That said, mad kudos to Mr. Federer. The man works hard and smart to give himself chances, but once in that well earned position he is certainly not short of luck.
It ain't about deserving it or not.Regardless of what happens tomorrow, Fed will hold 2 (or 3) of the slams and deserves no. 1, end of story.
Theoretically, Nadal could enter indianapolis, LA, and tourneys like that, so that's prematureIt ain't about deserving it or not.

From what I understand Fed will be #1 even if he loses when the points from Olympics get taken off.
Oh okay so Nadal can still hold it if he enters some tourneys until 27th July.Maybe it is premature then, either way it doesn't matter that much.Since Fed won FO I don't really care that much if he's #1 or whatever. In a way it would be probably fairer if Roddick wins this one but it doesn't work that way, there's no mercy in professional sports, you have to really earn it.I'll be glad whomever wins tomorrow,I won't root for Fed this time, will be neutral.Theoretically, Nadal could enter indianapolis, LA, and tourneys like that, so that's premature![]()
You mean some day?Federer will regain the number one ranking regardless of whether he wins tomorrow.
one could also say one of the reasons rafa got to number 1 was because of fed's mono. Btw, if anyone is to blame for rafa's injury, it is him and his team. Perhaps if he learned to work out his schedule better, we wouldn't have this situation.if he cries he's an a-hole. He shouldn't feel satisfied regaining the number one spot when the man who snatched it from him after 5 years of invincibility is injured.
But he's going to get it so well done.
I'm not bitter, as people think, just sad for Nadal. After all the hard work he put it and all the unthinkable things he achieved to get the ranking, it's sad he loses it this way. It's like all his efforts mean nothing and meanwhile almost everybody acts as if Federer has become unvincible again, and he's truly the GOAT when months ago they didn't believe his chances and thought he was finished .What hypocrites everybody and critics are.
we should all be so lucky to have our toughest hurdles in life be pushed aside to reach our goals.
Hopefully he can do some stuff in the US. It would make things better if he can win US open but not holding my breath. Though he did win AO after coming back from injury. Maybe there's hope.![]()
The first bold part of your post contradicts the second bold part.if he cries he's an a-hole. He shouldn't feel satisfied regaining the number one spot when the man who snatched it from him after 5 years of invincibility is injured.

Wow. Just wow.if he cries he's an a-hole.
How does sadness for Nadal translate to an "a-hole" reference for Federer? You ma'am, are lying.I'm not bitter, as people think, just sad for Nadal.
It really is sad, i agree with you. All Federer's years of hard work and dedication laid waste due to some freak illness called mono or whatever, and suddenly some chap who couldn't beat him becomes number one, and is considered by almost all (read: some whiners) to be invincible.if he cries he's an a-hole. He shouldn't feel satisfied regaining the number one spot when the man who snatched it from him after 5 years of invincibility is injured.

Trust me, he will cry.if he cries he's an a-hole. He shouldn't feel satisfied regaining the number one spot when the man who snatched it from him after 5 years of invincibility is injured.
What does sadness for Nadal have to do with Fed being an a-hole? Don't lie to yourself, you are bitter.if he cries he's an a-hole. He shouldn't feel satisfied regaining the number one spot when the man who snatched it from him after 5 years of invincibility is injured.

Like you did when your boy lost to Roddick.Trust me, he will cry.![]()
Sorry to disappoint you, maximo dear.Trust me, he will cry.![]()
I am with you on that. Good to see Roger back. The world of tennis just didn't seem right with Nadal on top. Sorry Nadal fans, but thats how I felt. And I am not a Fed fan, even though I was cheering him all through Wimby.Sorry to disappoint you, maximo dear.
Rickson, you almost jinxed him dude, admit it or not. I had to work hard for 4 hours to unjinx him, believe you me.
Anyway, congratulations all, for Roger's great win, and his comeback to number one. Hope he has many great years ahead, and many more slams, too.
Well he didn't but I am sure you must have cried like a baby... :lol:Trust me, he will cry.![]()
LOL, sorry bro. the credit is all Federer's.Now you're blaming me and taking the credit to boot?
No, your post seems perfectly fine.I always thought that 2 looked awkward in front of Fed's name and more awkward the 1 in front of Nadal's. Now order has been restored. Soon a 3 will be next to Nadal's name. I don't wanna see a 2 in front of Murray's, but at least it'll never be a 1.
Wow, anyone else find my post weird?
Sadly, that might be the truth seeing as how the #2 and #3-ranked players are pusher/grinders, but remember, these same players will be the ones who have the shortest careers. I'mma go ahead and say a 35-year old Fed will be more competitive than a 31-year old Nadal (probably retired already) and a 30-year old Murray. Heck, even a 34-year old Roddick will still have his serve. No, your post seems perfectly fine.
Having a 1 in front of a grinder or a pusher doesn't look right.
However, sooner or later there will be a "change of the guard". Probably in Nadal's favor. Hope that change doesn't happen for a year or three. After that, could be an era of boring tennis.
