Connors and Krickstein reunited......

This will be good news for all those who were so aghast that Jimmy Connors hadn't spoken to Aaron Krickstein since their famous match at the 1991 US Open, per ESPN's 30/30 documentary. Apparently, they have been in touch recently. Jimmy Connors will play Aaron Krickstein on February 10th in a charity exhibition at the St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton Florida, where Krickstein is the Director of Tennis. This time Krickstein will be able to have the crowd on his side. I don't imagine he will have too much trouble with the 62 year-old man who will be playing tennis on two artificial hips.

i think connors played either courier or mcenroe last year on tv and it looked like he could barely move. he was also wearing long pants. i hope his mobility is a little better as i thought it was a bit sad to watch compared to how i used to remember him. he could still hit great shots and returns though when he didnt have to move too much. btw maybe that tv show sparked them to start talking again

Aaron mentions this in the club newsletter linked below so looks like it's going to happen.

Aaron is in much better shape physically than Connors but I suspect Aaron will take it easy on the wounded old man. What I will be happy about is that Aaron will finally have the kind of crowd support he should have had in New York in '91. He has always been a class act and those club members are so lucky to have such a legend as their day to day coach!

... best of 5 ? ;)

Looks like this was a big success and a good time was had by all.

And, oh, Krickstein won.
