Yes. It'd he story we'd be telling our grandchildren. Everything was ready. Huge boost for sport and sending Novak to stratosphere. All the headlines. Oh I feel sad we didn't get to witness it.

Berrettini's a total mug on hard court. It's kind of astonishing, actually. Less than 55% career win-% on hard. Never won a title – never even made a final, even at the 250 level. 4 top-ten wins, but one of those was Thiem earlier this year (he ain't playing top-10 tennis anymore) and another was against Thiem in the last round-robin match at the ATP Finals in 2019 where Thiem was already qualified and basically tanked to preserve his chances for the knock-out rounds. Outside two tournaments – US Open 2019 and Shanghai 2019 – he's done basically nothing, and that's not really even an exaggeration (making the USO quarters again this year is good, but it's not like he beat anyone notable to do it).

But yeah, collectively, going Berretini-Zverev-Med to round out a slam draw isn't what I would call "easy." But even that pales in comparison to a lot of those early-to-mid-2010s draws Novak himself navigated, sometimes without much fuss at all.

How was it a tough draw. On paper it was easy until.Semis but he played pretty poor to lose sets in early rounds.

Agree. The consolation for me is that it is still one of the greatest seasons ever.

Nah. Didn’t have to face one single slam winner in route to the final. I felt bad for the respectable Djokovic fans, your guy almost made history, a Halley’s Comet moment missed. For the Djokovic “fan boys”, you guys needed this loss.

Nah. In theory he's still the favourite. Djokovic and Serena just can not handle the pressure. It's understandable. No matter how great they're, they're still human.

Of course there was a conspiracy, no question about it. The man below was born and raised 9 miles from where Flushing Meadows is located where the USO is held so it's very obvious who's to blame. And remember--- he's often said he's a huge Nadal fan and even invited Rafa to the White House. 100% conspiracy!

It is only because he is Serbian. That is well documented by fans.

So your theory is, the powers that be in the ATP can control the draw of a tournament, right? So they decided at this last GS they would give him what you are calling a tough draw to keep him from getting it? So that also means they gave him all the easy draws to get to this point too, right? They would be controlling ALL GS draws, so that is just as likely then.

It was only a very tough draw bc he LOST. Djokovic was not playing well for the entire tournament. Lost sets in every round but one. You Djokers make me laugh…
