amazing ! thanks for sharingOn my recent trip to St Helena island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean ... possibly the most remote actively used tennis court in the world at the Governor's mansion .. also Jonathan around 186 years - the oldest land animal in the foreground too...
PS2: amsterdam island remains a serious competitor... but the court is ugly (and not 'tennis-exclusive'!pitcairn island... probably one of the most remote courts on the planet !
hard to lob !
(c'est en auvergne ?)
he's looking for a partner (i think bud rated him as a 4.0)
... on amsterdam island, in the indian ocean.
Used the new airport ... the boat is no longer an option. Btw, the airport apparently has the shortest baggage carousel in the world!amazing ! thanks for sharing
did you go use the new airport to get there, or did you travel by boat ?
PS: it probably beats the 'remoteness' of the pitcairn court as i assume there are some courts on mangareva

Was in Hammerfest, Norway last week looking for northernmost tennis court in the world ..unfortunately everything locked up at 6am so couldn't get a photo for my collection.
i saw your 2 posts at the same time and at first i thought you went both in tibet and norway last week !Was in Lhasa, Tibet last week and looked hard but unfortunately could not find a court...
i think those are 2 outdoor courts... but without double lines! There's an indoor court on the race track. It's VERY fast being 3.5km high! Also saw some outdoor courts in TU.
I don't know those courts. The court I played in was indoor near the big race track.i think those are 2 outdoor courts... but without double lines!
('vintage masters' style?)
Haha, I have got around quite a bit last few years to more unusual locations .. Tibet, Norway, Sao Time, St Helena, Siberia, North Korea, Egypt, etc. etc. looking for the perfect court!i saw your 2 posts at the same time and at first i thought you went both in tibet and norway last week !
(and considering your profile suggests you live in cape town... that sounded like some hyper-intense globe-trottering)
Ugh, that image is no longer being shared. I'll have to visit again shortly and take a photo. Until then, here's the google maps:My local grass courts in Dunmore East, Ireland.
Courts are located in the bottom of this pic:
And the wind is often up there. I understand the view is gorgeous, but planting(literally) a tennis court next to the sea is asking for wind. What a location! Mind you, when the wind is up, your lobs probably land in Pembrokeshire…
Hot Damn - for HOW LONG have those been there? I used to live a couple blocks from Mission St, and played at some parks nearby.I finally visited the Alice Marble tennis courts for the first time a couple weeks ago. Long before I ever knew there were tennis courts there, I had passed them while taking the trolley from Union Square to the Fisherman's Wharf area. For those of you in the Bay Area unfamiliar with these courts, if you have been by the winding section of Lombard Street, then you've been by/near the Alice Marble tennis courts.
I once played on a rooftop artificial grass court just off the top end of the Embarcadero in San Francisco with views up to the Coit Tower and the Bay Bridge which was part of a private gym or health club. I have scoured Google Maps but can’t seem to find the courts. Do any locals remember those courts or am I imagining the whole thing (which would be a shame as I have dined out on stories about when we got locked out on the roof and had to fire tennis balls down at passers-by to get them to go into the club and ask them to open the doors…)Hot Damn - for HOW LONG have those been there? I was considering booking it... until I saw the €500/night starting prices. This is a place I visited in June 2018 as I made an travel article. Bio-hotel Stanglwirt just north-west of Kitzbühel in the Austrian alps. For me this is absolutely the most scenic location of a tennis-club I have ever seen. I could move here!
