What continental grip do you use for serves, slices, volleys and 2hbh ?

Index knuckle/heel pad on bevel 2/2 or 2/1 ?

Typically use a 2/2 conti for first serves and often for 2nd serves. Sometimes shift closer to 2/1 or 1.5/1.5 for 2nd serves. Note that some servers, like Serena and Boris (Becker), have employed a semi-conti (2.5/2.5 or similar) for 1st serves and something close to a 2/2 for 2nd serves. For low to medium height volleys, will use something close to a 2/2 grip. For medium to high volleys, I often employ a 2.5/2.5 (Aussie) grip. Pat Rafter, quite an outstanding volleyer, was often known to do this for low vs high volleys.

Standard 2/2 conti grip for Bh slice and for the dominant hand on a 2-hander. Often used this grip for squash shots and for drop shots, on both the Fh & Bh side. Also used the 2/2 (or close to it) for hitting tweeners and for the Bucharest Backfire.

I found that if I tried to find pictures or clear videos of ATP player's grips their grips ended at the little finger and not the heel pad.

This little finger or heel pad makes a significant difference in the angle between the forearm and racket shaft.

If they were to keep the orientation of the racquet the same, but just slide the handle down while maintaining that grip position, which bevel would the heel end up on?

Take a racket and try it.

Look at the pictures in my thread.

blew it. I could have written something like: I don't normally hit a 2 hander but when I do its 2/2.

why the change?

Just to make it a bit easier on myself with higher level players. Its still not an "easy" shot for me, but helps when late/out of position. Can still hit a decent shot if that happens. For me the 1hbh was less forgiving in that regard.

Yeah I get that. Sadly my 1hander is always hit late and out of position. You can hit winners sometimes because the ball has no right to go in.

I never felt good with the 2 hander. I could hit a decent one but it just felt wrong. You are lucky if you can gel with that shot.

It started off that way and took a decent amount of time for it to not feel wrong.. but it does get better

I've been putting the end of the racquet into my palm lately and trying to grip with mainly ring and middle finger with pinky wrapped right at end. I find my grips by placing my ring finger on the flat surface of a particular bevel. I do this because while my index knuckle can feel the eastern wide bevel the others are more elusive
