Contoured Grips- Feel the groove

I was hoping to get a discussion going about contoured grips. Until recently I had just used basic replacement grips. A couple months ago, I tried the Gamma Hi Tech Gel Contour grip and liked some things about it. First, the grip goes from being mostly smooth (besides the bevels) to having very noticeable grooves between the wraps of the replacement grip. For me, I like this very positive feeling between the fingers. (It also added a significant amount of weight which I actually wanted).
The downside is that it was a little too much in terms of its effect and the overall thickness it added to the grip.
I am hoping to find something in between the standard and this behemoth. It literally made my grip feel 2 full sizes larger easily.

I also tried the Gamma High Tech Contour (non gel version) and while that one is indeed thinner, it does not have a similar feel in terms of the width of the raised contour part. It feels more like having a shoe string wrapped underneath the grip.

Anyway, if anyone else uses contoured grips of some sort or can recommend something to try, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

I have tried the Wilson Contour Grip few years ago in an effort to feel the raised ridges and in hopes of getting a better grip. It worked well but came with a few downsides - the grip size went from a 3/8 to a 1/2 and the grip also added some weight that I didn't need. Since then, I have been using Wilson sublime and a wilson pro overgrip or yonex supergrap. I wrap the overgrip without stretching at all and that adds a small ridge which is noticeable for me.

Definitely increases grip size by at leat a 1/4 so you probably have to play without an overgrip if you want to keep the same size as a ‘flat’ grip plus overgrip.
