My Spanish is crappy - what does it mean to say there?

That [Vilas] invented tweener?

Here is the translation (my english is not perfect):

It says: "La 'Gran Willie', la practiqué mucho [tiempo] antes de animarme a usarla" which means:

"I practiced a lot the 'Great Willie' before encouraging me to perform it [in a match]..."

^ I found that quite arrogant tbh..

I can see where you get that from but if you've followed the adidas campaign at the 2012 olympics for british atletes you would see that the tag line is:

#takethestage (Be the stars at your home games, achieve, do your best ect)

Now that Andy won gold he has achieved, done his best and was quite the star of the tennis event so he has "taken the stage" hence the tag line:

#stagetaken

I live in the same city as you.

The arrogance lies in adidas believing they can have more arrogant taglines than Nike. Hahah, impossible is nothing...nothing is impossible.

With this 'stage taken' thing, it's just staking a claim...something central to all marketing philosophies...and all marketing philosophies are central to being a human being in this age. So I really just see it as a piece of conforming. Good old conforming, that's all. Nothing arrogant here. We can safely move along.

i like the ad, it's just too bad they didn't choose a tougher picture of andy. he's obviously happy he won gold, but it just lacks intensity. he looks more like a kid in a candy store.

i guess it works though, since it seems this "new" andy is a player everyone seems to love.

Excellent insight! :)

I'm really not trying to put Andy down, he obviously really tried for this ball, but it's one of the most amazing sports photos I've ever seen because it shows how even before the ball came down Fed realized the point was over and started to walk away. And to be fair to Rog, once he realized that Andy fell, he turned back around to check if all was OK.

Have to say, always love seein Fed with the haircut.

For the last 2 years Fed's digging this whole straight hair, not curly look now. Short is good, reminds me of 2009 AO.

Long hair, dont really dig it on Fed. A la..

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHH!!??!!?!!! NNNNNOOOO!!!!

Did he really cut his hair that short???:shock::(

I always love him with longer hair. His curly hair is just so pretty.

*sigh*

That's OK....as long as he wins USO....
