We should all be so lucky that Gunners decided to go for Aaron Ramsdale instead of keeping Martinez. With Dibu in net Gunners would win every cup competition. As it stands they are big favourites for every one of them but with Dibu it would be a lock.

Kral is never going to stop this with the Warriors/Gunners is he?

Martinez, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori and Timber would actually be ridiculous.

I don’t really rate Raya much, he’s so lucky to have that defence in front of him.

Sloppy, disastrous football from both sides.

A propah ****ing game. None of this perfection nonsense. Mistakes every 3 minutes. Long shots beating the keeper. Penalties skied to the stands. This is football, not Pep’s robotic nonsense.

This is the way it was meant to be played. Premier League flop Rondon barreling down the pitch like an epileptic seal, thundercunting it past Canada’s keeper who was standing so far out of his box. Venezuela losing the ball in their own half every possession, Canada missing about 3 open goals. And a glorious end to a glorious night. Canada’s goalkeeper guesses correctly on the lottery. Davies hits a perfect penalty, and Canada go through from Kone’s stone cold killing blow, a roller right past the Venezuela goalkeeper who got his ankles broken.

Sure, Artetaliban would’ve beaten both sides 3-0. But we’d be bored to tears by the end of it. This is what the game needs, rubbish like this.

Only if it was for a dinner plate trophy. Otherwise I like Arteta to lose.

Bottom line, Canada now has some notable players. You do not have to win pretty, just win.

Canadians waiting decades for Lord Stanley's Cup to return home...

Messi is such a corporate shill he probably drinks that stuff too. God I hate him

Btw I love Nunez’s energy. He makes more runs behind in one game than Kane has since turning 30

I’m terrified for the World Cup in 2026. Dudes can’t move or pass or get the footing right on these American fields. It’s going to be a comedy show.

Historically Colombia are surely the biggest underachievers out of any CONMEBOL nation. They've only appeared in 6 World Cups (fewer than Paraguay) missing 4 out of the last 6, and their solitary Copa América title came on home soil in 2001 with Argentina withdrawing due to security concerns.

From the remaining semi-finalists, I'd love to see them striking gold.

I remember in the past even James Rodríguez (clearly on fire in the QF) had his troubles at club level, he was still often performing well for the Colombia national team.

Uruguay-Brazil was absolutely brutal with hard tackles flying all over the place, but as a big fan of Bielsa I'm happy that Uruguay are though.

I will be rooting for anyone but Uruguay. Sorry but watching 20-30 fouls a game is not what I want to be watching. A shame too because when they're not doing that nonsense they actually play very pretty football. Awk well.

Well, Argentina is playing Canada for this Ugly Low Level Copa America first semifinal in 20 minutes.
I am a bit worried. If Canada wins, I may have to start playing ice hockey, an allegedly more violent sport than fútbol.

Bad time zones for England all the matches AM.

Sadly probably not going to see a single match
Just go to sleep now, and only check the score tomorrow after waking up, but having urinated and washed your teeth first.

What’s up with this pitch? :-D

They’ve basically dumped a load of water on some fake grass.

I’m sure the “Maritime Messi”, Jacob Shaffelburg, is feeling right at home.

But hey, if this fella gets a nickname like that, all bets are off.

Forget Gallagher being Galladog, he shall henceforth be referred to as the “Essex Eusebio”.

No you see our fear for the 2026 World Cup. It’s atrocious even for American standards. A bunch of cheap NFL owners who want their stadiums to double as concert venues and too cheap to shell out for real grass. Disgusting.

I was trying to figure out why. I know America struggles a bit with grass from golf coverage. Like there are specific varieties in different parts of the country and they can have some difficult properties. That’s what they say anyway, I don’t know my Bermuda from my Fescue, personally.

But nope, just sounds like they’re cheap :-D

I must say, I’ll be leaving this tournament a lot less confident about the World Cup. The pitches and the pitch sizes aren’t fit for purpose.

I didn’t come into it with high expectations either, I remember Nkunku tore his knee on a shocking pitch at Soldier Field in our last pre season game 12 months ago.
