I cant say Im shocked about his death. Because of his wild life style I expected him to die at a very young age. Sad news. May he rest in peace.

Saw this today. Sad indeed.

Liked his movies (Lost Boys, License to Drive, Blown Away, etc).

Oddly, I enjoyed the show, "The Two Corey's". I saw a few episodes and enjoyed seeing them interact as friends, even though they are adults now, and it was very apparent they were leading very different lives. Haim seemed like he was suffering from a Major Clinical Depression, amongst other things.

The life style of Hollywood leads many down the wrong path. I wonder if his mother knew that her son would turn out like this if she would have pushed him down this path.

The joys of being rich and famous at 14. He was in rehab at 15 (for cocaine.) In his late teens he became hooked on various prescription drugs (Vicodin, Soma, Valium, etc.) He was hooked off and on for the rest of his life. Haim was a total mess; he got up to 300+ pounds at one point and he was short (5' 6"/5' 7").

His parents did a lousy job of looking out for him when he was a teen.

Cause of death will be a drug overdose like Heath Ledger and Brittany Murphy. You can't mix prescription sedatives and pain killers in large quantities with OTC medicines that act on your respiratory system; the lethal cocktail scenario.

He was kind of a jerk who burned pretty much everyone in his life. Addicts tend to be very selfish, very self indulgent people. It is all about them.

I am amazed Haim lived to be 38 given his lifestyle. Anyone who takes Vicodin and Soma by the handfuls isn't destined for a long life.

So how many are we at within the last two years? The Lost Boys is a staple of my childhood but I hardly heard of him after that. It's too bad. R.I.P.

I too am suprised he lived this long after reading about the prescription drug habit he had. It's sad some can't handle success(or lack of) and all that comes with it.

Are there any former child actors not screwed up? Damn the Disney Channel.

Hollywood life doesn't seem worth it sometimes. Sure, you get money, but with little sense of accomplishment. You play a doctor, a scientist, CIA agent, but you are just a poser. Your whole life is fake.
