Its 18x20 by the looks so Speed Pro, or Gravity by the beam i guessGuess we can rule out radical/extreme with both having different colored bumpers assuming head wouldn’t black those out. Safe money on a gravity of some sort? Need more pics to get a better view of that head shape!
It looks like a 16/19, tgt 301.4 if touch layup? Its 18x20 by the looks so Speed Pro, or Gravity by the beam i guess
what is your opinion on the 301 layups? I wonder why he went with this as opposed to the newer speed mold.
I did not like the 301. But just like many wanted to try the PT346.1 during ND years at #1, now the 301 is getting popularity…what is your opinion on the 301 layups? I wonder why he went with this as opposed to the newer speed mold.
How do you measure that - because they lost a challenger player and Tsitsipas or by their market share. Because, they still hold the #1 spot in racquet sports globallyWhat was Wilson’s slogan back then? Win more or something like that. Honestly I haven’t used a Wilson frame in 10 years but this is a big decline that they are going
Yes, they still hold the #1 spot, but they are admittedly losing dominance, and their first-mover advantage is dwindling. Also, calling Coric a "challenger player" when he's won at the Masters level is a bit disrespectful of his talent. How do you measure that - because they lost a challenger player and Tsitsipas or by their market share. Perhaps I exaggerated the term ‘big decline’ but losing some key Wilson players that endorsing their frames is not a good look marketing wise (I get that some aren’t selling frames as others top Wilson users) And there’s no doubt they are for sure still #1 globallyHow do you measure that - because they lost a challenger player and Tsitsipas or by their market share. i had the blue zverev edition that i gave to my friend as his first racquet and he barely plays. may try to get it back…How do you measure that - because they lost a challenger player and Tsitsipas or by their market share. Because, they still hold the #1 spot in racquet sports globally
Is that also Sinner's frame?
CorrectIs that also Sinner's frame?
It is lesson to learn for Wilson. I think Tsitsipas would still play with his Blade unless Medjedovic had beat him playing literally on one leg. It was magical kick that triggered the change. It seems like Wilson does not have something that is currently in demand - combination of forgiveness, spin and power in 98' head and thin beam package. Blade is too soft to be as powerful as PA98 and has average spin potential. Stef could theoretically adopt RF01 Pro, if he wanted to stick with W, but he chose easier racket to play.Perhaps I exaggerated the term ‘big decline’ but losing some key Wilson players that endorsing their frames is not a good look marketing wise (I get that some aren’t selling frames as others top Wilson users) And there’s no doubt they are for sure still #1 globally

It might be the choice, but he tried what he thought have more power and crispness... and it clicked straight away. Which is amazing. What about a Blade 16x19 strung with RPM Blast?
I think Wilson can make a model based on the Pure Aero 98.It might be the choice, but he tried what he thought have more power and crispness... and it clicked straight away. Which is amazing.
I won't be surprised if Coric has a similar effect. Actually he had some already, winning the challenger in Lugano.
Definitely W needs to think about it and make some adjustments.
For as long as I have been in tennis, I now realized the H and P stands for the first letter of the brand they are coding. So what’s the number behind each letter though?I think Wilson can make a model based on the Pure Aero 98.
Wilson has a large history making models based in toher brands:
H22 - Head Ti / Liquidmetal Radical
H19 - Head Prestige
H25 - Head Liquidmetal Instinct
P25 - Prince O3 White
I think nothing stop Wilson to make a B23, for example
And Coric is playing with something similar to is old P25, that he used before changing to the Blade model.
Yes. I realized it few years ago. Looks like a fast way to identify the models without feel a little bit blatantFor as long as I have been in tennis, I now realized the H and P stands for the first letter of the brand they are coding. So what’s the number behind each letter though?
I think the number is the beam width in millimeters. But I don't know if it is completely true. For as long as I have been in tennis, I now realized the H and P stands for the first letter of the brand they are coding. So what’s the number behind each letter though?
This is classical way for W for last few decades to bring something new to the market. After Pro Staff line, they unfortunately started to produce their flagships just by copying something else (you pointed this list out)I think Wilson can make a model based on the Pure Aero 98.

Perhaps but some of these frames beam width isn’t constant as it tapers from top and endI think the number is the beam width in millimeters. But I don't know if it is completely true.
The RF pro does not play like the PA98, but you're right the RF would be the best Wilson could do in their current lineupIt is lesson to learn for Wilson. I think the ones made by Wilson (the copies), yes. But I could be wrong.Perhaps but some of these frames beam width isn’t constant as it tapers from top and end
i’ve played both. bean on gravity feels smaller, maybe the radius is just more curved. I play really well with the speed mp. Gravity i played only a few mins with but i played well. the headshape threw me off a little bit. from my memory its a similar string spacing. Speed mp feels more crisp to me. but fair warning i only hit the gt98 for a couple mins. There seems to be some similarities (at a high level) with the speed touch mp mould and the gravity tour 98. Anyone played with both and know if they have similar playability?
Speed MP G360+ feels better than both (imo). The legend and auxetic 2.0 are too clunky and lack in maneuverability compared to the g360+ as well imo.Not a pro by any stretch but to me the new Speed MP (Legend) feels miles better than Speed MP Touch.
It would honestly be really funny if Wilson just straight up put out an PA98/Pure Storm clone, but I think the fact that you can see a faint Cortex outline in some of the photos is making me lean towards it just being a Babolat.I think Wilson can make a model based on the Pure Aero 98.

I’ve been testing the speed mp legend recently, pleasantly surprised by this racquet. Coming from a background of control frames, speed mp is surprisingly stable at such a low weight. Also don’t need a dampener with it, I think it feels great. I just need some more testing time with it to see if I can get familiar with the extra power given the racquets I’m transitioning from. This is what has me interested if there is a middle ground like the 301 mould or something like a gravity tour 98 - but my answer could be just getting familiar with the current speed mp.Not a pro by any stretch but to me the new Speed MP (Legend) feels miles better than Speed MP Touch.
Wilson kind of did. It was called the Kobra Tour and Tsonga used it before switching to Babolat Aero ProDrive with cortexIt would honestly be really funny if Wilson just straight up put out an PA98/Pure Storm clone, but I think the fact that you can see a faint Cortex outline in some of the photos is making me lean towards it just being a Babolat.
Wilson will try to keep Tsitsipas with this oneWilson kind of did. It was called the Kobra Tour and Tsonga used it before switching to Babolat Aero ProDrive with cortex
I highly doubted it.Wilson will try to keep Tsitsipas with this one
didn’t they not post any congratulatory pictures online? not a good sign imoWilson will try to keep Tsitsipas with this one
good catch, I havent seen any indeeddidn’t they not post any congratulatory pictures online? not a good sign imo
It is not, like the H19 is 21mm and was never 19. H22 is also 21.5mm I think. Not sure where the numbers came from, but can’t be beam widthI think the number is the beam width in millimeters. But I don't know if it is completely true.
Time for Wilson to bring back the Kobra.Wilson kind of did. It was called the Kobra Tour and Tsonga used it before switching to Babolat Aero ProDrive with cortex
What's your string setup? I put lynx tour at 45 lbs on mine and it feels like a guitar string without a dampener. This is what they should’ve done with the Shift. Kobra mold but with Shift tech. Add in the 16x20 for the 98 and you’d have a competitor with the likes of other 98 spin oriented framesTime for Wilson to bring back the Kobra.
Wilson Kobra 100
Wilson Kobra Tour 100
Wilson Kobra Pro 98
Realistically, they need a better name than Kobra. To me, that does not sell well.
Currently head lynx and it’s extremely plush. Great all round string, underrated, but I might try a 1.30 string next just to see if I can get a slight bit more control. Given it’s a speed mp I should just go head hawk touch in 1.30……but I’m not going to go anywhere close to 60 pounds lol - might try it at 50. I used head hawk touch 1.25 in an ezone 98 recently and liked it, but in saying that I didn’t like the ezone - found the speed to be far more stable and forgiving. What's your string setup?
