Coric:" I'm not going to just give the match to him(Nadal)"

Rafa should REALLY S&V more or 1-2 punch serve-FH combo instead of rallying so much. I don't think he realizes how good he is at it.
In my opinion he is extremely good. The problem is that for S/V he needs to have an effective serve (which Rafa can do sometimes). But if he can get his serve in shape, this might be a good approach for him to shorten matches.

Nadal is naturally gifted at the net, I think. Great net coverage, awesome reflexes, superb overheads. But he was so good at counterpunching from the baseline, that he never really incorporated S&V as much into his game as he could have. It could be a smart thing to try now, at least on fast(er) surfaces.

Honestly, I think Johnny Mac would be a great secondary coach for Rafa.
When I read your posts and your recommmendations to Rafa's game and how you prefer to see him play (as fast and aggressive as possible, hitting more winners etc.), I sometimes wonder what made you a fan in the first place?

It's not 2005 anymore, what made me a fan are the same things that are driving him into the ground right now. I'd like to continue being a fan for years to come, and he's going to have to adapt to survive. I've got all the highlights I need of the things that made me love his game.

sometimes it just seems that you prefer the more offensive side of him, not just for longevity but because you like that game style more? I'm properly wrong

Well sure, I like seeing him boss people around 08, 2010, 2013 style when he's confident and pulling people so far off court you can't see them :) He amazed me equally with his athleticism, retrieval skills and shotmaking, but I prefer Nadal the boss even more.
