In all fairness to Nadal, he was able to turn things around against him. Beat him consecutive times after that, FO and USO. That's one of the Warrior's great assets. dON'T COUNT OUT the Nadal just yet

Agreed on all fronts. Who'd have thought Mac was done winning majors at the end of 1984? Djokovic could be winning one or more slams a year for another 4-5 years, or he (and Nadal and Federer) might be swept away in a season or two. All that's clear to me at this point is that the generation between Nadal/Djokovic/Murray and Kyrgios/Coric/Thiem etc. has been unusually docile, historically speaking.

That's exactly what I have been saying. First, we never know how the top, established players are going to do in the future. Who knew that Borg would quit at around age 26? Or that Connors would go on playing until almost 40?

And yes, there has been a huge gap. We've been hearing lately that everything has changed, that young players can't dominate any more.

I don't believe this. I think we've been going through a drought of young talent. I hope it is about to change.

He is a better player now than he was ever before! Maybe except 2011 but it's pretty close. Plus the competition is weakening. Federer and Nadal are declining. Murray is a basket case and nole's pigeon and Nole owns the young guns as well as veterans like stan or cilic. It's Nole's time! Who is gonna stop him?

Nadal isn't even 2nd in the "GOAT debate" so that would already be impossible. The GOAT debate is only between Laver, Federer, and Gonzales. Nadal is 3rd or 4th all time, but not part of any GOAT debate, atleast not now.

Novak needs to win at least 7 more slams (including RG) to "nudge Nadal into 3rd place." And that's assuming Nadal doesn't win another slam, which is unlikely.

With the talentless and or brainless players that are coming up.. I see no reason why at this point. Nole seems to be showing no real signs of slowing down.

Barring a big health issue, Nole can manage another 6-8 slams. Who's gonna stop Nole except Nadal exactly if Nole is motivated? NO ONE!!!
