Looks great on paper but you know, and I know, and practically everyone in the tennis world knows that men's doubles are a second grade competition (mostly) for people that couldn't cut it as singles players.

The physical demands of the Tour simply do not allow for the elite players to participate in enough doubles tennis. The reality is that we can only guess if the Bryans would ever have won a Slam if conditions permitted more balanced careers (i.e. McEnroe-like distribution for someone like Federer/Nadal etc.).

Having said all this, the guys could only play who was put before them and they usually won. They deserve only admiration for that.

Also they probably had it great going around the world at this young age + they were around players like Federer, Nadal, Sampras, Agassi, Hewitt, Djokovic being buddies and speak to them and all that. They have a cool life

great achievement with zero competition.. !! I would not even call a 2nd tier tennis player.. it would be like 3rd or 4th tier journey man that can't compete in single to make it exclusively in doubles.. It's kind of not fair for other team b/c the Bryan brother eat, play, sleep (may be going to the restroom) together and the other double hackers just trying to hook up for a partner..

I do like the Bros. and consider their achievements well done but consider they are "only" 16-11 in slam finals, not overwhelming for sure. The other thing that bothers me is that they have been beaten frequently at times by guys that are not doubles specialists, just singles guys who come together for an occasional event.

Incredible achievement. At the same time this is a result of them being twins and being together more than anything.

There have been several good doubles teams and players over this period, just that they have not stuck together.

Contrary to popular belief, Bryans have a losing record to several top teams.

Other aspect is other teams are more attacking and error prone while the Bryans built their strategy around winning matches by reducing UFE.
