"Crisp" multi?

What would you suggest in a crisp multi? Or better yet what would be a good multi to hybrid with PHT? I actually want a string that will break right about the time that PHT begins to die (about 10 hrs. for me). I use PHT 17mains and PSGD 16 crosses right now. Both strung at 64 on a PDR. I could use a smaller gauge PSGD but am always up for something new as well. I was thinking of a thinner gauge WC Explosiv, Laserfibre Elite, who knows. Let me know what you think.

Have you tried using a cheap and decent crisp SG, like Gosen OG Micro 17 or 18?

I can almost guarantee you it will feel the same as a crisp multi in the crosses.

In general, multis are created to be very soft and can be a bit pricey!

If you definitely must have a multi, try the PSG Multi.

I've used Gosen OG Sheep Micro 18 in hybrids with great success. To me PSGD feels hard and stiff, not crisp.

Gosen OG Sheep Micro 18 has much better feel and crispness than PSGD IMO.

Add Wilson Reaction to the list. Nice crisp feel with excellent control IMO. Priced right, too. It is being discontinued so, if you try it and like it, better stock up. I have no idea of end-of-life date.

i say wilson reaction or psgm 16g. both are very crisp for multis, and are dirt cheap for multis
I like Wilson Reaction too. I would add that it holds tension well.

wise wizard, can you say more about similarities and differences between wilson reaction or psgm 16g? Thanks.

Not in my experience.

But I've used it in hybrids only. In there it did great: crisp bed and held tension a very long time.

(Do a search and see what comes up.)

laserfibre supreme.

Or LaserFibre Supernatural Gut Pro Stock, which is very similar to Wilson K-Gut Pro. Although I found the K-Gut Pro to be significantly more durable, both are among the crispest, sharpest multifilaments available, with maximum spin potential to the point of almost shaving the fur off the ball. Outrageous prices though.

KLIP Excellerator 17

2nd that - much crisper compared to other multis I've tried including NXT, NXT tour, Klip's own venom, and Kgut pro.

Interesting how perceptions differ. :) I liked Klip Excellerator, but thought it compared to K-Gut, rather than K-Gut Pro. I also felt that K-Gut had crisper feel and better ball pocketing than Excellerator. Of course, K-Gut Pro feels even more crisp than K-Gut, though K-Gut pockets the ball better. [K-Gut and K-Gut Pro are still among my top choices for my own racquets.]

Even though K-Gut and K-Gut Pro play outrageously well for me, they are outrageously priced as well. So maybe I should give Klip Excellerator another chance -- since both of you recommend it. :)

I was thinking of a thinner gauge WC Explosiv,

WeissCannon Explosiv is a very decent string with good power, ball pocketing and tension maintenance. But it is not exceptionally crisp (although not muffled/mushy like the old Babolat Excel 2007 or Gamma Professional).

Also as others may have mentioned in other threads, it seems to take more effort to generate spin with Explosiv than with crisper multis.
