Here is a thread for the rare photos that capture pro players hitting with such intensity that you can visibly see the ball, frame, or string deforming under the force of the impact.

If you are interested another pic thread I started has photos of pros when they were younger, usually making the same strange face when they hit the ball: Then & Now: Grunt face of the Pro

Slightly off topic, but my old mum watched this and said she was so pleased when the 'big hairy man' won. Her quote "that skinny one with the big chin wins everything, it's about time he let someone else win for a change".

Further quotes:
"Oh stop grizzling like a baby and don't be so selfish just because you didn't win".
"Look at what's his name Donkovic crying (she doesn't know how to pronounce his name). If he wanted to win so much he should have played better".

Priceless, but I'd better not let her loose on these boards...there could be tears and they won't be hers lol.

I really enjoyed watching Delpo at his best again. I felt sorry for Djokovic, but nobody could beat Delpo with his forehand working that well.

Yes, it was great to see him back. He's been missed.

And his forehand was on good form. It's not often you see so many outright winners put past Djokovic like that.

Your mom should learn names.

OP - these pics are cool. Post up some of rec players as well so we can compare.

Even within the top men it is spotty finding photos. It hinges on how many photographers can sell photos of the player, and what they choose to post vs discard. Even then the photo has to be timed to capture the impact which may only last 0.005 seconds, which is why in video the impact is sometimes between frames. I've yet to find one of Murray or Del Potro.

If I find any I'll post them.

Can we set something up so she's the commentator on a matches instead of Carillo?

The way I look at it - most of those pictures clearly show that those players have no decent technique to speak of. I mean they hardly ever hit with a bottom part of the frame - which as we all know here on TTW - is a staple of a proper stroke.....

Bravo.
