In all fairness, you're legally blind at that moment. So while impressive, as long as you keep your head still at impact in order not to upset your balance, you should be fine. It's not exactly as if Federer wasn't known for his colossal shanks every once in a while... You could say his head and eyes jump early at where he expects to make contact instead of looking forward.
