quick: somebody get pics of 3.5 players crushing the ball to prove TTPS’s point that the pros dont hit it that hard
To be fair, if I got a pro photographer to constantly take pictures of me hitting as hard as I can with no regard to where the ball lands, after a few hours there's probably going to be at least one decent ball crushing picture in there.

What is the percentage of other players really looking at the ball/area of impact? 0? 5?
In all fairness, you're legally blind at that moment. So while impressive, as long as you keep your head still at impact in order not to upset your balance, you should be fine. It's not exactly as if Federer wasn't known for his colossal shanks every once in a while... You could say his head and eyes jump early at where he expects to make contact instead of looking forward. Interesting read below, albeit a bit old.

Anyway, back on topic. Ashleigh Barty.

Slightly off topic, but my old mum watched this and said she was so pleased when the 'big hairy man' won. Her quote "that skinny one with the big chin wins everything, it's about time he let someone else win for a change".

Further quotes:
"Oh stop grizzling like a baby and don't be so selfish just because you didn't win".
"Look at what's his name Donkovic crying (she doesn't know how to pronounce his name). If he wanted to win so much he should have played better".

Priceless, but I'd better not let her loose on these boards...there could be tears and they won't be hers lol.
Years have passed and I wish you and your mum the best and hope for more of these gems

I've always found it interesting that Dimitrov places his thumb between his middle and ring finger on his forehand rather than between his forefinger and middle finger like most do. I've seen a very few other male and female players do that and always found it odd.
