Not an atp event but I went to a WTT match last night and saw Tennys Sandren play Teymuraz Gabashvili. Sandgren looked like he had just been at the beach and I was pretty sure he was going to get rolled, but he surprised me and put up a good fight against a top 50 guy, I was impressed.

Deadline for the US Open this year was July 20, 6 weeks prior to the Monday of the week the tournament starts.

Good result for him.. He's been grinding on the circuit for numerous years now so it's about time he some results to show why he left UF after just 2 seasons.

Good news for UVA fans is that this pretty much assures he will be back in Charlottesville next year, barring a miracle run in New York.

King beat Paul in Champaign and went on to win the tournament, pretty good couple of weeks for this guy.
