MACHINE DETAILS:
Digital Electronic EM450 XLE model:

The EM450 XLE model is clearly the most advanced digital electronic machine made today. Some of the features include:
* 4 pulling speeds,
* Pre-stretch features
* Programmable knot tension
* Instant lbs. to kgs conversion (and visa versa),
* 2-line LCD display screen.
* Auto-proportional stringing calculator for those who prefer proportional stringing techniques. (when selected for use, this feature automatically calculates and sets the most affective cross string tension based on your chosen main string tension. Takes into consideration the type of string, number of mains/crosses and length of mains/crosses)
* Database storage for 1000's of customer histories w/auto tension setting from previous string job.
* Database storage for 1000's of racquet stringing patterns and tensions.
* Built-in data port for stringing machine-to-PC data transfer.
* Self-contained lighting system to illuminate the stringing work area.
* 3-Dimensional turntable rotation for the absolute most accurate tensioning.
* Optical switch for tension pull and release.
* 3 tool trays

Floor Standing MS200 DX and FX MODELS:
If you prefer the durability of the old style upright hand crank machines (Ektelon/Prince Neos type) but want the newest constant pull standard of tensioning as the electronic machines, the DX and FX models are your only options. At roughly the same price as a commercial hand crank machine and half amount of the electronic models, the MS200DX model gives you all the rugged reliability of a manual machine with the ease of operation and most importantly... the very same 100% true constant pull tensioning of the best digital machines made. No old style hand crank. The DX uses a revolutionary foot pedal operation that makes for virtual hands free tensioning. By far the fastest and most accurate/consistent machine made. What more could you ask for? http://www.laserfibre.com/MS200_DX.html The FX model costs LESS than commercial grade hand crank machines yet is also 100% true constant pull tensioning. The FX uses the patented Smart Weight tensioning system that provides absolute accuracy/consistency and operation simplicity all in a hand lever operated machine.

Desk Top MS200 TT and ECO models:

The TT and ECO models are also quite remarkable stringing machines. They are the only hand operated machines in the world with the very same 100% true constant pull tensioning of the MS200DX, FX and the EM450XLE model, the most advanced digital machine made. They are the only hand lever actuated machines made where the tension you set is the tension you get regardless of where the lever stops. Unlike ALL standard drop weight machines, with the MS200TT and ECO models never again does a stringer have to fuss and fidget, fighting to reposition the lever over and over to get an accurate pull. Their One Pull / Any Angle, Smart Weight Tensioning is ground breaking engineering in such a machine. They are without any doubt the fastest and easiest machines of their kind to learn to operate. They are the fastest and easiest to get the most accurate and consistent string jobs with the least amount of effort of any desktop machine. http://www.laserfibre.com/MS200_TT.html, http://www.laserfibre.com/MS200_ECO.html

Each stringer shares the same pro-active, direct support mounting system, proven to provide the most protection and support to the racquet. Each shares the same stringer’s choice of 360 degree double action clamps or 360 degree single action clamps. Each is covered by the industry’s only 10-year warranty including no charge scheduled clamp reconditioning and a no-questions-asked 30-day money back guaranty. All machines come with a tool set as well as a sampler assortment of LaserFibre strings.

All LaserFibre machines are readily available and only through LaserFibre direct. It is the best way to provide the most complete and prompt customer care and service for warranty or in the event of questions. We do not sell our machines through our website. Please feel free to visit us on-line at www.laserfibre.com or call toll free at 1.888.895.2350 with any questions you may have.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the continuing currency crisis with the weak US dollar, regrettably there will be a price increase on all LaserFibre stringing machines ordered after February 1, 2005. The exact pricing won't be in place until after the first of the year. All orders placed before 02/01/05 will receive the current above pricing even if the stringing machine ships after that date.

What can you say about the EM500 Tour Master? I'm currently leaning toward purchasing a Gamma 8500 Els.

who me?

I dunno much of anything about these. Reading this forum, the The MS200TT and the MS200ECO are the most often considered/recommended laserfibre machines on this forum. Personally, I'm considering the eco model though I'd like to find the tt used.

Belkins,

In my opinion the EM 500 is a more traditional "looking" machine, but it is not nearly as advanced as the new 450 which offers features out the wazoo. I understand that a new 500 may be in the works that will feature a similar casing to the EM 500 but with the electronic features of the 450 plus a built-in ERT. Not sure when it will be on the market, but it is probably at least a year or so away. If I was looking at a machine in the price range of the Gamma 8500, I'd take a long serious look at the EM 450. The friction-free center pulls are revolutionary, the computer appears to possess more advanced capabilites than others and it is backed up by the best warranty in the business. I currently string on a Gamma 7500 and to be honest I enjoy stringing on my Laserfibre MS 200 much more. The engineering and ergonomics of the LF are superior. Clamps are better. The mounting doesn't get in the way, it never needs calibrating and surprisingly I am able to string faster on it.

Ruuzo - Many of the better Laserfibre strings are laser treated and this process allows for better tension maintenance and longer playability. They cost more to manufacture; the cost is ultimately passed along to the consumer. They are a little more costly, but are premium quality strings and in my opinion they are worth the extra couple of $'s per package.

Those who own LF machines can purchase string sets and reels directly from Laserfibre. The pricelist is marked confidential so I don't think anyone will publish it here...I may be wrong as I was surprised to see the actual price list in the original part of this thread.

For what it is worth, the pricelist is extremely close to TW pricing. We are talking within a range of .50 on many sets. Where the savings can come is when you buy in quantity. If you purchase 6 sets directly from Laserfibre, you get a 7th free. Even with this, they are still expensive, but as I stated earlier, many LF users believe they are worth the extra cost.

I believe that a price increase is due, I don't remember when it is coming though.

The update for the ECO to go to the turntable that will allow fixed clamps is $30 if you order it at the you order the main machine, ie, order the ECO with updated turntable for $429 ($399 + $30). If you later want to add the fixed clamps the cost will be the difference between the ECO with flying clamps and the one with fixed clamps.

The customer service rep is easy to talk to and responsive both over the phone and via email.

Wish I had the cash, I would just buy the ECO with the fixed clamps...

I guess there has been a $5 price increase on the alum turntable. Mine was the very first ECO with this setup. I know that a few more have been sold with this configuration after talking to Tim.

To upgrade to fixed clamps, the cost will be a little more than getting a fixed system outright.

Thanks,
eagle
