Current Pure Drives - Spin Potential?

I've been looking at a few racquets similar to my Wilson BLX Pro Open which I'm currently playing well with. Racquets similar to the Pro Open that I'm looking at are Volkl V Sense 8 300, Wilson Ultra 100, Wilson Burn 100, Yonex VCore SV 98 (although a bit heavier), Babolat Pure Drive, and Babolat Pure Drive Plus. (have already tried the SV 100, Speed MP, and Duel G 100)

In reading the reviews of the Pure Drive/Pure Drive Plus the playtesters mention that the string pattern in the Pure Drive (and Plus) is more closed, especially near the top of the string bed, than previous versions of the Pure Drive.

Have the current Pure Drives lost much spin potential over previous versions because of this new string pattern?

And, if you have used any of the above mentioned racquets I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Thanks!!!

Well, we have not seen a decrease in spin with this stick. It's highlights are big power, big sweet spot , with good control and spin. It also has a very larger spin window 6.06 inches...So if you got a nice topspin stroke...I don't think the puppy will disappoint.
But naturally with the extend length (adding more swing weight), it can hurt some with maneuverability.
Also if you are not use to extended sticks, it could be challenge.
For 20 buck here at TW, take a little demo ride and you will tell...
Once you go extended....you may never come back...

I appreciate your response!!!

In looking for something similar to my Wilson BLX Pro Open I guess I've narrowed it down to five racquets and just need to eliminate one of them: Pure Drive, Pure Drive Plus, Wilson Ultra 100, Wilson Burn 100, Yonex VCore SV 98.

Again, thank you for your help and information concerning the current Pure Drive!

I would recommend getting rid of the burn 100. It is not likely to impress you like the others might. Its feel is only for a few people's taste and I love the feel of the ultra

The Burn has almost identical specs as the Ultra. What makes the Ultra play so much better?

Thanks for the input!
