Hello all, I was thinking of doing this list for a while. I like the Babolat brand and always like to see which type of frames players gravitate towards. I pulled information from TW fourms, tennis nerd, and many many old and current image searches zooming into pictures LOL. Here’s the list...

Feel free to update with any players I may have missed, break into the current scene, or recently changed.

Thanks!

I think you are wrong about Mannarino, he has always used the 2013 I believe. His racquet has always had the active Cortex thing from the 2013, or at least has for the past 6/7 years

I initially thought so as well but if you look at this picture Jonas took of it you can make out the V cortex from the 2010 model.

I found it shocking when I was scrolling through the rankings and not finding him until I had to search him :(. Hopefully he won’t stay down there too long. The tour is better with him involved personally.

He's on his way back for sure....making QFs now...hope his injuries are in the past now.

You are right, I looked at some pictures and his racquet is the 2010.

I was in the same camp with you. I feel like a good amount of pros look to gravitate towards the 2010 version (tsonga used this version has well). Based on reviews I believe it’s one of the more stable frames out of the apd series, maybe that has something to do with it.

Forgive me for being mistaken, also I would love to try the old APD’s compared to the pure aero’s

No not a problem at all :). My list isn’t full proof I could definitely make mistakes on it LOL. Have you hit with any of them in the past?

Only the 2019, I really started trying different brands in early 2020 as I didn’t know anything about racquets back then and used whatever the coach gave me. Now, reading all the positive opinions about the APD’s makes me want to try one of them at some point, perhaps later on I will buy a used 2013 to give it a try.

I did enjoy the 2013. My brother used them for a bit and may have been my favorite of the series plus the paint job is very nice :). I will say tho that the swing weight on the 2013 is quite light. I would like to try an original at some point but that will most likely never happen. I also heard the next 2023 aero is going back to the string spacing of the 2013 apd so expect more control vs the current pure aero.

I’m excited to hear they are moving back to the skip at 8 pattern, it’s still a powerful racquet but you can swing out more with that pattern than the 7 and 9 Aero’s

Great thread. I wish someone could do the same for the other brands...

Thank you. It was an interest of mine and I wanted to contribute to these fourms productively. I will most likely look to update it every year or so if much changes. Unfortunately Im not as versed in other bread so I wouldn’t be confident zooming into pictures picking out molds.
