Customising my PA+ to play like my APD

Hi all,

I am an ITN 4 (5.0) player on the shorter side. I want to test out extended length racquets to give me more pop on my serve and more power on my groundstrokes. Other than that, I am very happy with my current setup for my Aero Pro Drive 2013 and would like my newly acquired Pure Aero Plus to play as similar to it as possible.

Here are the modifications I made to my APD 2013:
Weight Customisation: 4g at 12 o'clock, 2g at 11 o'clock and 2g at 1 o'clock. Plus an overgrip.
Swingweight: 358 (according to Racquettune app)
Balance: 33.5, 3 pts HL
Strings: RPM Blast 1.30/16 @ 22.5kgs (49.5 lbs)

I have 2 questions:

1) If I use the same lead and overgrip setup, racquettune says that I would have a SW of 360 and a balance of 33.5, 5 pts HL. Do I need to make any more adjustments to make it play the same?

2) What tension should I string my RPM blast on my PA+ to get a similar feel? I'm a bit confused because the recommended tension on my APD (55-62 lbs) is different from the PA+ (50-59 lbs) even though the string pattern is the same.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Here are my Racquettune screenshots for my APD and PA+ if it helps:

you would best weigh it out on a postal scale, and balance on a board. you can improvise your own balance board , the principle is quite simple and straightforward.

but be forewarned! no matter how close in weight and balance, does not guarantee the same feel for both rackets, because they are production rackets and have inconsistency in the lay up itself.

i balanced out and weighted my two decima equally, and still they did not play the same.
one still felt very airy in the swing, and the other more dense.

eventually, adjusting weight position and amount brought it closer in play, but overall feels did not change.

now, although very similar in play, the actual weigh out on scale, and balance apparatus show greater difference than before.

Thanks Rafaboy! So you recommend measuring swingweight and balance manually. How should I compare the balance of an extended racquet to a standard length racquet? Does a 27.5" racquet with a 33.5 cm balance have the same balance as a 27" racquet with a 33.5 balance?

Also, any ideas about the string tension? Thanks!

sorry my friend, i cannot help you there, have never used the plus model.

but if rackets are consistant with golf clubs, most players match all irons, regardless of length differences in the same set, to same swing weight and balance on the golf club scale.

first the scale finds balance point, then weight balast is moved to determine head weight and swing weight. but golf club are always head heavy, but principle is same.

correct me if i am wrong, but i believe that head weight would need to be based on balance poit of your 27 in racket, if you want same play.

say if balance point is 12" from handle, then same should be on the plus racket. because everything forward of this point would need to be same? it would feel as you are using a plus racket with same feel as your 27, if that is your goal.

then, appropriate weighting added afterwards to other desired specs.

otherwise, if you try to find balance point of plus racket, and work adjustment from there, you wouldnt have feel of your 27", you would have feel of longer racket with specs ajustex to the plus dimensions. racket will noy respond the same as 27. it will be much slower.
