[CUSTOMIZATION] Like the balance, hate the sweetspot being lowered

I need stability so I added lead tapes. Because it becomes hard to swing I made it more head light. Now I like the static weight and balance, but the sweetspot is lowered (shifted to the throat), to a degree probably two or three grid rows.

Adding lead to the hoop can move the sweetspot up, but the balance will be changed.

Is it possible to move the sweetspot up again, without changing the balance?

====================================
Yonex DR98 310g. Stock balance 10 pt HL.
Yonex Poly Tour Fire 52/50.

Replaced the replacement grip with a certain leather grip, don't know its spec.
4g of lead at 3 o'clock
4g at 9
6g at 12
4g at top of handle (end of throat)
Static weight 359 or 360g
Don't know the current balance in points. I just feel good.

need more information than that to help you with anything, which racket? where and how much weight added?
write down all the mods you have done to the racket.

Oh I was thinking if there exist general principles let me figure out the exact figures. Specs added to OP. Thank you.

if you add all the mods it does not add to 360 gram static weight, 310+4+4+6+8= 328 grams are you missing few mods locations?
as per your current mods above your balance is 6.5 HL (32.26) and your swing weight is 348

Without adding weight, I would suggest to move the weight from 9 and 3 to 10 and 2 or possibly slightly higher, then move the weight from the top of the throat down the same distance that you move the other weight up.

Hi @ChimpChimp .

1) You've added 14g on the Head (The upper half of the racket), and 4g on the Shaft (the lower half of the racket), this means you've added extra 10g in total on the Head. This made the racket LESS head light than the original, the original balance was 10hl, now it's about 7hl.

2) How do you feel that you've lowered the sweet spot despite adding lots of weight on the 3&9&12 ?! Adding weight to these points shifts the sweet spot higher not lower, that's the purpose of adding weight on these points....s, it's really strange what you say.

3) Are you using the same type of strings with the same tension before adding lead tape? Try to lower the tension of the mains or use softer strings (specially the mains), this will increase the sweet spot & add more power.

4) Try to do this (this will keep the current balance but reduce the weight by 8g):
a_ Take off the 4g from the handle.
b_ Take off 2g from the 12 o'clock.
c_ Take off 1g from 3, and 1g from 9.

Hope this help.

Great suggestion, But he wants more stability as well, so shifting the weight higher will reduce the stability. Maybe if he spread the lead (that is on 12) from 1 - 11 (all the hoop, under the pamper guard), maybe will help more.

If he puts it centered around where he hits the ball it actually might improve stability. I usually hit above center, so my lead tape which would be at 9 and 3 are actually closer to 10 and 2, but the stability is just as good as it was when I had it at 9 and 3 because the lead is centered around where I hit the ball.

I thought he meant by "stability" is Twisting? Could be a smaller grip size than should be.

to all who say my lead adding shifts the sweetspot higher instead of lower, you may have forgot the leather grip.

And the balance I want to keep is the current one, not the stock 10 points.

I need both twisting and recoiling stability.
Yes I think my grip size is also too big. Without the 0.6mm overgrip the size is perfect. With it, a bit too big.

if you want to do that follow this, measure from blance point of your racket to 3&9 location take 1 gram off from each side, move that weight same distance from balance point toward the butt cap that should keep the balance very close
try this tool to do a mock run http://twu.tennis-warehouse.com/learning_center/customizationReverse.php

Thanks for your suggestion. I am thinking about the same, as 360g is too heavy for me to swing , though I love the stability, but I wonder if this can keep the balance, because 4g + 4g are removed above and below the balance point, while their original distances to the balance point are uneven --- the one at handle is a lot closer to the balance point. Same weight on both sides, different distance = not balance.
