Dear customization experts,
I recently bought two PK (Pro Kennex) racquets from TWE and I want to add some weight and play around with weight, balance, sw (swing weight), tw(twist weight) in order to find what feels better for me. As I have little experience in customization and especially in matching, I have questions so I could avoid mistakes done due to inexperience, as there are tons of information that I read on this forum, watched on YouTube and so on it is easy to get lost. I forgot that TW offers racquet matching so checkout like that, so here are the specs. the specs are for an unstrung racquet with the plastic on the handle.
Racquet A:
Weight: 312.8g
Balance: 31.5cm
Swing weight:
Racquet B:
Weight: 312.8g
Balance: 32cm
Swing weight:
The racquets were supposed to come in 320 gram and 31cm balance for those who wonder about PK qc. Big thanks to TWE for sending me very similar racquets!
As I have already played with racquet A, I would like to start customizing it and finding the right specs, and after matching racquet B to A. I hope it's a good idea, as If I going to put weight at 12 o’clock I would prefer it to be under the bumper later on.
As racquets were supposed to be 31cm balance, I would like to start here, according to TWU calc I can achieve this balance with racquet B only if I get it to 323grams, (I guess the problem I may run at this weight that sw and tw may not match, but I probably won't stop at this weight)
1. I read or saw on youtube that measuring sw with the last cross method isn't accurate or good, what are better, other ways to do it as I would prefer not to string racquet B yet?
2. How should I apply weight on the handle, going around or applying it to the length of the bevel, which bevels, maybe there are better ways to do it, as I don’t want to deform the handle? I currently have 1.27cm width lead (1/2 inch) but I may buy anything that is needed for it to be done correctly. Making the grip a little bigger isn’t a problem as I use 2-3 overgrips anyway.
3. Would it be ok to re-apply same stock grip that came with the racquet while I’m testing?
According to TWU this is the first thing I should customize:
Thanks in advance for your help!
