I customized my own stuffs for fun and made some decent customizations. It might not be perfect but my main focus is "less time and less money".
For shoes, I used to use vinyl material but I am leaning towards to paint using airbrush. For Tongue, I still use heat transfer methods.

my first customization.

How do you do your socks? Do you use an embroidery machine or are those stitched straight on in the sock machine?

I also have iron-on transfer paper for T-Shirts, would that work for the tongues or do I need the heat press and vinyl cutter?

Link to paper.

I gave a design to socks factory and My socks were produced from there.

Vinyl cutter makes easy to cut the heat transfer material.
Honestly, I have not used iron-on material so not sure how good it is.

You could probably sell these to Fed fanboys and Nadal fanboys here on these boards for a lot of money. Some of them are absolutely mindless fanatics.

One word of advice: Print "GOAT" on these shoes/apparel. They would probably shell out thousands of dollars for them. :)

Thanks for answering. What about painting? Do you paint on vinyl first and then transfer it or do you do it directly? Seems like you would need a really tiny brush.

Nowadays, not many people spend money for tennis hahahaha

Good idea of GOAT. Probably I will make it some point ^_^

I use airbrush to paint. Put vinyl film (for example:trophy) then airbrush.
I can use masking tape but vinyl film is good. Also use water based paint so if there is a problem easily I can do it again. After paint is dried then I apply clear coat.

Could I just print out a logo, cut it out and Then use that as a stencil and fill it in with paint?
Possible but it will be very difficult without cutting machine.
Also I use water based paint with airbrush because just in case, I need to erase it and do it again.

Yes or no.
Actually I have over 30 pairs of shoes and usually I wear warranty shoes first. If I don't have any warranty shoes, I wear whatever shoes I like. I use vapors for matches. I still have about 4 pairs of vapor 8. If I wear out those then I will start to wear vapor 9s. Currently I wore once for black/pink vapor 9 so far.
Yes. I will use all my customized shoes. My customization is all about less time and less money.
There is no reason to not using any customized shoes/apparels.
Some of pics are not my items (do it for several other people).

2014 US open lunar ballistic.
I was thinking about Metallic silver but last min, I decided to paint with same swoosh color.
Unfortunately it turned out closer to pink color.
I should have tried metallic silver T_T.
I have one more extra pair so I will do it with silver color next time.

I did not like big fire logos in 2015 LB LT so made it smaller and It looks better in my opinion.

Somewhat reason finishing paint was not super clear but not bad though.

Tongues were attached inside of shoes body so hard to pull out and heat press but outcome was better than vapors.

It might be easy with this vapor.

if I get this color vapor, I prefer to make "287" version.

I hope Nike makes true red and white color combination so I can make fed's Swiss Davis cup like vapor.

I would love a Davis Cup/Olympic colorway. I have the True Red/Olympic/Davis Cup "RF" hat. I found it sitting at a tennis shop in Raleigh, NC. Couldn't believe it, given that they go for a chunk of change on FleaBay.

Nike seems to have stamped the logo into the shoe here:
And of course the embroidered tongue is a thing of beauty:
Nike used molded image to synthetic leathers for Vapor 9.
Agree that Embroidery gives authentic finish.

My customizations is all about cheaper solutions with less time consuming.
When I see real fed shoes for tongues, I will be able to make it as similar as possible but sewing and embroidery machine costs at least $300 so I just don't want to spend extra $300 and need to learn sewing stitch skills haha.
Anyway my customization method is improving. Used vinyl film but nowadays, I am doing air brush paint job.
Sometimes, vinyl films do not stick permanently because of movements so painting solve the problem.
Especially vinyl films were always the problem at fitframe area and paint does not stick to fitframe but I found a solution so now I paint RF logo at fitframe too. It takes more time since I need to finish with micro brush but looks better and durable than vinyl film.

I want to have red and white vapor 9.5 too so I can make my own version of Olympic fed vapor haha

@kimguroo

can yo tell me which color you are using? i think waterproof is a must.
i want to change my vapors and create an all black vapor.
Do you use different sorts of colors für the area where the cushioning is?

I am not sure I understand correctly but Do you want to know what kind of paint I am using?
If so, I use cheap acrylic paints with Air brush. It's water based paint so it's not waterproof paint. Also I need to finish with a sealer which is clear coat spray paint.
if you want to paint mid-sole, you need to dye then might need to paint in black. There are several special paint companies which produces paints. If you use regular paints, paint will be cracked easily.

Should finish the shoes sooner but somewhat reason everything was slow...
Two tone colors are always complicated.
Fitframe RF logos need to be finished by hand (I started to paint RF logos at fitframe instead of vinyl film because fitframe is flexible material. vinyl film moves during playing matches especially hard quick movements.)
I did not want to put numbers but decided to put numbers on.
The numbers are so small and hard to be done by hand T_T

The video will not help most of people because cutting machine, heat press machine and air brush are big part of my customization. Basically I cut images then using heat press machine and air brush to paint or stick heat vinyl film.
Without those tools, it's impossible to make or cut cleanly.

Fantastic work!
Thanks!
Positive comments always make me doing more and more hahaha.
You just keep out-doing yourself. I never get tired of looking at this stuff.
nowadays, I've done more stuffs for someone instead of my items but I need to find more regular people. Usually setting up paint takes more time than actual painting time. If I have five or more pairs, I will save significant time and material cost haha

If I put your work on my Facebook page I bet you could get some business. Can I put some of these pics on my page and see if people message me of interest? I could then figure out how to get people to you.

I don't mind to put pics on your Facebook I am doing it like a hobby. Just need a few more people to do same customizations in order to material costs down and saving time. Honestly it's still time consuming works and probably stringing might be better $$$ haha.

Which model of cutting machine do you use to make the Nike and RF logos?
I did not go with expensive one since I did not need to make big images so I got Silhouette brand cutting machine. It's not perfect but Did not have too many problems.

Someone asked me to do 2015 nadal AO shoes. I was very surprised to see that he sent the heavily used shoes.
Usually I customize new shoes or very lightly used but this was the first time I customize shoes in this condition (almost about to claim warranty....). Possibly The guy might want to see my skills before doing new shoes haha.
