Dan Evans : the Official Fan Thread!!

Hey guys! I’m creating this thread to support the current British No.1 , Dan Evans! He is my favorite player to watch at the moment. I think Dan has one of the highest tennis IQ’s on tour, not to mention the best slice on tour(save maybe fed) and his versatile all court game is so inspiring to watch. I’m personally more of a Counterpuncher, but He makes me want to develop a more agressive game. Also, he’s only 5’9”, same height as me, so I gotta root for the vertically challenged. Its proof that with enough tennis skill the crafty shorter guys can still compete with the giant power baseliners.
Dan just lost yesterday to an on fire Rublev in the Adelaide QF in a tough 3 setter, but has been playing great so far this season. Hope to see him do great things this year and cause some upsets

Well, I think this thread needs a bump! Evans and his IQ just 'dismantled Djokovic's game' (Novak's words) at Monte Carlo!

If you watch the points, Evans does everything people suggest in 'how to beat an aggressive baseliner:' hitting on the rise, moving the ball around, and keeping it out of Djokovic's strike zone. He even commented about his goal to keep it low. Good for him.

Tsitsipas is at the top of his game right now, is a top #5 player and is 22. Evans is gassed from all the tennis he's been playing this week (he's currently playing the semis in doubles) is still not yet top #30 and is aged 30. He was just up against a better, fresher and younger player today.
