Daniel altmaier racquet

Looks to be a DR98 with a smidge of lead but could be wrong.

The grommets are wrong for that model

Wrong grommets must have nothing to to with the current model. Yonex often makes an actual layup combined with former string pattern for sponsored players. So what really makes a racket to a specific one? Mold, layup, paint, string pattern?

Well, you said it is the current ezone 98, but the grommets don’t match and neither does the mold.

I don’t have any insider info so I have no clue what layup he uses but I am fairly good noticing visual differences which can indicate drill pattern and mold. Hope that helps.

Smidge of lead lol Thats one on the longest strips I’ve seen and slightly odd positioning unless there is lead under that dr bumper as well.
Old thread, but I watched him play today in Adelaide Australia. Another Yonex one handed backhand player with the ezone 98.I hadn’t heard of him before.
presuming still a dr under the 2022 paint.

He seemed to have changed his (swing)weight setup. At Davis cup in november 2024 there are pics of him with the ezone 2022 with about 3-4g of lead at 3&9 each.

Nowdays he's playing with probably 2g at 12 (visible on some rackets).

Seems to be the v7 ezone still, at least I wasn't able to spot the v8 bumperguard.

Both scenarios of course blind to what might be under the bumperguard, but in general, that 3&9 lead was to much just to level out batch variations.
