Danielle Collins goes full WWE heel

her place is on the tennis court, she just isn't a good player. I have facts to prove this with 0 slams, 1 ms title, 0 yec's and 0 OG's. This is not a good career.

Good career - roddick level of success. To be considered a good player you need to have won a slam.

The only players I would consider good without winning a slam were Nalbandian, Arazi and Monfils. At no point has collins entertained a generation with her tennis ability like nalbandian and monfils. Arazi was just too damn small.

Aside from these three no slam = no good. Every other good women's player has won a slam. even radacant won a slam

I would call Roddick's career great. He won a Slam and reached #1. He just wasn't as good as Fred

Collins has had a great career relative to expectations. She's not an ATG, not arguing that.

his career wasn't great. let's be real here

collins is not a good player. she's bang average. Nothing wrong with being bang average, most players are bang average.

slams are what separate the bang average from the good. YEC and masters event results are what we use to distinguish players who have won the same amount of slams, or around the same (3 slams in the 90's with 5 YEC wins ranks above 4 slams in the 00's with nothing else due to tougher competition and environment).

But for people to try and tell me collins' career is incredible is a criminal offence. Her earnings are incredible. Nothing about her career has been incredible. No one cares about ranking in an era where even on the mens game, Zverev is ranked ahead of Alcaraz, no one cares about ranking unless it's the #1 ranking. She has not won a slam, will never win a slam, has never won a YEC or an OG, and has one masters title.

Just a sidenote, i would say it's possible to have a good career without winning a slam if you make multiple slam finals (something collins hasn't done), win all MS events (something else she hasn't done), or win a YEC (something else she hasn't done). OG alone can be fluked (massu i am looking at you).

she's had a bang average career with one fairly strong showing in a slam when she was essentially top loser.

1. Objectively, this is sheer nonsense. To take just one example among the many in tennis history, Zverev (whether one loves him or despises him) has won two ATP tour finals, Olympic gold, and seven Masters titles, and is ranked no. 2 in the world. Yet according to you, he's not even a "good" player.

2. You must realize that virtually no one shares this wacky perspective with you. So it would be nice if you prefaced your pronouncements by saying something like, "I realize I'm entering the lunatic fringe with this opinion," instead of pretending that you're offering some sort of neglected wisdom.

He's a decent player, and he's had a decent career.

I'm glad tw doesn't share my opinions, I would be worried if they did. I was here long before you and have read some crazy things on this board (Bud literally rating peter polansky as a 4.0 in the tips/instructions section stays in my head rent free to this day).

It's literally like saying if people here know American football that Dan Marino wasnt a good quarterback or Barry Sanders wasnt a good running back because they never won anything.

Or Ted Williams wasnt a good hitter cause he never won a World Series. This idiocy isnt even serious. But in his defense this is a typical level of discourse we now have on almost any topic.

it's literally pointless comparing 1 v 1 sports with team sports. literally.

Literally, TW is worse than MTF now.

Blockbuster match between her and Iga incoming...

Cute of you to think she can even penetrate past Rybakina to even start with, let alone winning three more matches of the tournament to even get there...i think you are very naive if you think that Collins vs Swiatek semis is happening...

Collins actually beat IGA in a Aussie semi match in 2022. 6-4, 6-1.

Matter of fact blew her off the court. Iga was literally panicking, and taking timeouts and doing all kinds of dumb crap. People have short memories.

But Rybakina only won ONE slam title, and it was in 2022 on grass
And I bet she's lost to way worse players than Collins...

Nobody here, and I mean nobody, cares what you think. Get lost.

you don't speak for any of us including me, doesn't change the fact that collins is an average player who struggled to win against a qualifier, so grow up and accept facts otherwise get lost

Pretty sure you were speaking to one of those multiple accounts.
I only have one account and have a life unlike you so stop spreading lies and this is a public forum and I can reply to who ever I want whether you like it or not so get a life

Yes back at the start of 2022, which no doubt was an extension of her terrific 2021 campaign! LMAO Try harder next time...it's like briging up Istomin's victory over Djoker at 2017 AO as an argument...LMAO

Iga madę it to the semis of the open in 2022. She had lost two sets until she ran into collins. And collins pounded her. So maybe you should try harder.

Look everyone has a bad day from time to time, she was starting off slowly in 2022 and then skyrocketed since March and never looked back...my point is that her AO run in 2022 was extension of her unsucessful stretch, that lasted for more than a year! Collins isn't the only one, who defeated Swiatek on hard courts handfully in the last couple of years either, why single her out like that?! LOL her case ain't much more special than Ostapenko's or anyone else's, who stopped her on her tracks in the last couple of years at both AO and the USO and at Wimbledon too...Everything should be looked at in the context of the current form! Swiatek is now in terrific slam winning form! What happened back at the start of 2022 is currently irrelevant.

It's not irrelevant. She creamed her. And acting like Iga wasnt playing well when she made he semis after losing two sets is ridiculous. Collins then lost to Barty in the final, 6-3, and 7-6 in a tie break. So idiots on here saying she isnt a good player are being stupid. As usual. And people like the troll calling her a loser, are pathetic.

He's literally in the Hall of Fame. He's not an inner circle all-time great, but he had a great career as long as you weren't expecting him to be the next Agassi or Sampras.

I said he had a good career.
If you are not an all time great then how did he have a great career? It's not like you can be a part time great.

Looks like Collins took a direct swing at TTW posters after her loss to Keys.

"Don't care what a guy living in his basement is writing on the internet" - Danielle Collins sends brutally honest message to critics

take out her slam final result (where she lost) and honestly her slam results are journeyman. Whoever thinks she has had an incredible career needs their head examined for slug infestation.

Dude seriously doesn't understand the difference between "an all-time great" and "great" in everyday usage. JFC.

Re: Collins, wasn't this ..person ... supposed to have retired and given us all a break by now?

because being an all time great means you had a great career.

Mannarino has not had a good or incredible career, therefore, he is not an all time great. What are people not understanding about this.

Someone name me an all time great who didn't have a great career? I can potentially name one or two (but they have slams to their names and got done in by injuries - Collins is a nobody).

Bro, this is your second post! You came out of the woodwork just because you feel very strongly about the other guy??? LOL

Mannarino has probably had a great career relative to his expectations

The presser is also priceless lol

"Best thing about being a pro, the people that hate you also pay your bills"

Very honest response, and its true.

I feel bad for people like her who are seemingly just angry at all times. Cannot be healthy.

She is in good company with the behavior encouraged in today's society, where everyone is your enemy or "wronged" you in a way that generates the hate.

Australia has been in steep decline ever since the covid lockdowns and The Djoker deportation. Australia also has a drinking problem.

Without a doubt, the idiotic, overreach of Australia with their mishandling of Djokovic has left a large scar across its self image and system of government. All thanks to their disrespecting the personal health rights of the individual.

Collins gets one paragraph in the day's wrap. Going by AO's site she was barely here, and certainly wasn't involved in anything that would reflect badly on the tournament.

Only 29 players have ever been ranked #1 since rankings began in 1973

1973 is not the dawn of the sport.

Secondly, ranking is not that important. No one actually thinks Zverev is a better player than Alcaraz, or had a better 2024 than Alcaraz. Rankings can be very deceptive. Rios got to number 1 and people act like he was a god, rankings can cause some extreme hyperbowl and confusion.

Casper Ruud is ranked ahead of Djokovic. This is proof rankings don't make sense. The guy does not even own a masters title. has he even won a 500 event? lmao

Yeah this is re*arded strawman

Zverev isn't better than Alcaraz, bc he's never been #1 and hasn't won Slams.

Roddick did both

I can name you plenty of players since the 'dawn of this sport' who boast better results.

I said it was a good career. It's not a great career.
Whatever, I am glad Collins lost to Keys. For some reason Collins cones, to me, as a sour puss. As for Roddick, he had an outstanding, near great career.

It’s Danielle Collins world and we are all just temporarily occupying space in it lol.

Everyone has known a great woman like this in their life. Someone who has their act together and knows exactly what they want out of life super young and just sets to work and gets it done. And she doesn’t let people screw around with her feelings. She is an amazing role model at a time when we are very short of good role models.

She is basically a real life barbie who happens to also be one of the world’s best tennis players with the skill to promote the sport and the drama of tennis better than a WWE wrestler, all the while still being a hard-bitten but actually very fair competitor who always respects her opponent (except Iga :()

If she played pickleball or basketball or futbol she’d be a household name, but she is stuck in tennis where no one knows how to market the stars properly, so she has to go completely nuclear to get a headline.

She would do great in WWE and I'm not even joking

Or politics

She’s always been kind of unlikeable and since she’s a perennial non competitor for majors? She was right about retiring,

None of them had any sort of positive traits about them. Roddick used to bully linesmen and umpires, but comes across as a total pussie. Reminds me a lot like Phil Hellmuth, just a classic american brat.

He had a good career. That's it.

Sorry, but Collins has had an incredible career. Who are you to tell TW that she is a non-competitor for slams? Fantastic talent, screw the haters. Were you even a pro?

True champions win a major and get their headline that way.

This post in terms of cringe and idiocy stand alone.

What on earth am I reading????
