Daniil Medvedev: chief superbrat

Wow, I actually haven't seen that one before. Was he defaulted?
No, the lady that got hit was all cool about it. She let Medvedev know that it's all ok. She knew he didn't deliberately hit the ball to her as he was just trying to hit the ball away to the wall.

The ball was travelling towards his face so I think he was in defensive mode trying to protect his head but ended up hurting somebody else's head lol.

Nah there surely was a frustration slap component too, but he was going for the wall he just misvolleyed lol

I like Daniil, he is a quirky personality and adds something to the game. Game wise nothing to write about is effective and gets him the Ws. Not many can say they beat Djokovic in a final in straights and almost beat Rafa the very next time.
If you ignore all context, sure.

And you should ignore much context. If I were to say Med was injured in the 2023 US Open final, that's possible, but hard to prove. The truth is Medvedev did defeat Novak in straights.
The Nadal loss was in no way a positive one and it wasn't well-received at that time so no amount if current revisionism will change that.

And it's pretty easy to prove that Djokovic was bad LOL, that's not really up for debate.

Djokovic wasn't bad, he just wasn't up to his usual level. You can't expect him to play as though he wasn't planning on winning the Grand Slam.

For Medvedev to come through in spite of the environment that was pulling for Novak, is still pretty astonishing.
