Daniil Medvedev steep downfall

Daniil Medeved's free fall in performance needs to be studied in a laboratory. I've rewatched highlights of some of his matches from years ago, and the thing that immediately stands out is his much faster ball speed than today. His serve was also very different. He's only 29 and should be in the prime of his prime. I wonder what could cause such a drop in power and ball release, or is it just a mental issue after losing another Grand Slam final, with a two-set lead in the 2024 AO final.
He's beaten by anyone, and the performances he's made in recent tournaments suggest a player ready to retire in Monte Carlo

In a recent interview he stated he’s had a shoulder injury that’s nagged him since 2023. Hence why he’s been back and forth with gut.
Add that with the lost confidence and momentum and you have a decline.

It really boggles mi mind that this guy has won a slam and finished runner up 5 times to various opponents. Like how? Poor forehand.
Great backhand. More or less decent serve, disastrous net game/touch and good return and poor mentality. Just how has this guy won a slam? Never ceases to amaze me.

im getting tired of this hypothesis.
For every player that peaks when they’re 30 there are at least 20 players that don’t. So what is the norm?
Yeah I mean not everyone sustains their top level or a top level going into their 30s. Safin was absolutely talented and seemed to have his worst ranking at 28-29.

To channel my inner @vive le beau jeu ! ….

Did you see him play from late 2019-2022?

What? Medvedev? Hey idiot, they didnt play at the USO last year, they played the year before you absolute clown. Now go and let the grownups talk about tennis

Oh my bad , last year he was exposed by a journeyman Botic at USO :-D A player worse than pusher Dev

Hahaha how you changed your tune after getting owned again , Carlos got owned by freaking Botic smh , your second fiddle hero always leave you crying ,no ?? :-D
Atleast carlos is allowed to play in pro tennis. Couldnt say the same for Doper Sinner for some time

29 isn’t “prime of his prime”, that’s 24.

Med is five years past the peak Slam winning age. And before you object, I’m speaking from evidence: more Slams have been won by 24yos than any other age. He won a Slam in 2021, that’s his age25 season. This was always gonna happen to him and the others but we don’t get it bc B3 were still beating everyone but each other into their mid30s…we feel that is the standard now, but it was an aberration. Players decline after 26/27 and we shouldn’t wonder why

Why did Djokovic have his best season at 28 and not at 24?
:D

We have to consider the possibility that he is also doping but just didn’t mess up like Sinner did.
Oh i believe every top player is doping, and has been for the last few decades. I personally dont care about it tbh. Everyone dopes at the top level in the vast majority of sports so it's whatever at this point.
I was just reminding a troll of his place here lol

How do we keep getting back to this? Fedalovic are anomalies, not the norm!

Exactly. People talk about Fed2006 but 2009 was points away from being a CYGS. All four Slam finals, won the Channel Slam, tied then equaled the record. All at 27/28

He could have won like 2 CYGS if not for Nadal in 06-07. Thats 8 straight slams. INSANE
