”Medvedev is very consistent, a very tough opponent," Tsitsipas said in an interview with Greek broadcaster Ant1.
"I would not say Medvedev's game is boring; I would say it is one-dimensional. It surprises me that, with that kind of tennis, he manages to achieve what he has achieved."

But Tsitsipas was also complimentary of the Russian, who he referred to as the "best player at the moment; he proved it with his results."

"I consider myself as one of the best, but I also have to prove it on court," he said.
"They [the players he lost out to at the Grand Slams] are not better, but during that time they played better."
When asked if he was sure that his father, Apostolos, was the right person to continue to coach him to bring about further improvement in 2022, the Greek star was absolutely unequivocal.
"I'm 100 per cent sure," Tsitsipas said of his father still being the right fit for him.
"There is no better coach than my father."

So glad that between him and Medvedev it's the multi dimensional philosopher who wasted a 2 sets lead in a Slam final against Djokovic. Imagine how much bigger mouth he'd have if he crossed the finish line there.

And it's very fitting that while philosopher and golden chains liked to talk the talk after any decent results, Mad Lad is the first one to walk the walk.

The grapes are sour here, but so are mine, and 'It surprises me that, with that kind of tennis, he manages to achieve what he has achieved' is surely a sentiment that is more widely applicable.

Daniil has beaten novak before the US open so this isnt' a surprise. Tennis is all about matchups. 1 dimentional,, 5 dimentional only matters to the fans. because 1 dimentional players always tend to be boring to watch so they don't sell tickets

I used to like tsitsipas at first, but since he got to a couple of GS semis his ego got huge and annoying, also it is so dissapointing how he performs at wimbledon, he does very well on clay but at the moment thats the only thing he has proved consistently, too big of a mouth for what hes achieved at the moment, he should be more humble
