Dark Horse Candidates for Indian Wells Upset

We won't see the draw in a few days, but I think there is great potential for someone either than the big names to win it. Of course, we don't know yet if Sasha or Novak will play but likely the latter won't be there. Nadal has won three straight HC titles first time since 2013 and with Category 2 Plexiplave he should be a top contender. Although mainly known for indoor HC and grass success wouldn't be shocked if FAA makes a serious run. I also like Alcaraz and Rudd to be among the "Dark Horse" candidates. If both ND and Sasha are gone then I would have to favor Nadal but won't discount any Dark Horse winner. I use the term in the light sense and not the literal sense as most of these players are well-known in the tennis community.

Before we see the draw, I will pick Rublev?

Favorites - Nadal, Medvedev
Next Up - Tsitsipas, Rublev
Dark horses: Fritz, Opelka, Korda, Sinner, FAA, Alcaraz, Hurkacz, Norrie
Not sure how Rublev would higher chances to win than Norrie.. Rublev isnt beating Rafa, med or even Tsitsipas, if they play anywhere 70% or more..

As of now, I'd say

Favorites: Nadal, Medvedev, Zverev (if there)
Second tier (non-darkhorse): Tsitsipas, Rublev, Auger-Aliassime, Sinner, Alcaraz

Third tier (darkhorses): Berrettini, Hurkacz, Shapovalov, Bautista Agut
Fourth tier: Ruud, Norrie, Opelka, Fritz

Fifth tier: field

Sinner only win tournaments where he avoid higher ranked players.. Id put my money on Shapo over Sinner any day

Gimme tim vs novak 2R

Shapovalov doesn't even win tournaments. So...there's that.
Shapo has only won one tournament as a whole and that was a 250...I know he's still really young but we all expected much more from him when he shocked Rafa in Montreal a few years back
