Darth Federer v Luke Shapovalov 4th round at AO 2019

Wh

why? Djokovic only just scrapped past him by the thinnest margin
Djokovic didn't just scrape past him by the thinnest margin in a slam though, nor would he. Unless maybe they played in 2017. In a slam Djokovic would destroy Shapo. I agree if Federer loses to him here it is a sign he is probably done off of grass.

honestly Shapo would have likely lost in 3 anyway, don’t see why it gets this much hype

last time they played Shapo was lucky to win a few games.

Djokovic did not "destroy" Shapo at the AO 2019. Djokovic won in 4 sets, which means it was a solid but hard worked victory.

I'm not knocking .. just correcting that he has just changed coaches.

Do you know how they chose Youzhny? I'm guessing some kind of Russian connection, but it doesn't feel like that long ago he was still on the tour.

I quoted you to inform @Tennease Youzhny is in charge since just July after Wimby. Sorry to bother you.

I think the choice helps due to the language thing with Mom and he had a complementary playing style to where they want to go...ohbh, big ground game, decent serve, former top 10 player and the most important ability...availability. The initial gig was a trial arrangement and they netted well enough that I think it’s now permanent for the slams, maybe the M1Ks too.

Time to lick the wounds and keep on growing. Advancement isn’t always linear; one step back today to maybe get two steps higher at IW/Miami.
