David Ferrer - Beatdowns

There have been 15 Grand Slam semifinals in the open era where the winner lost five games or less. Of course, Novak did this last night defeating Ferrer. Amazingly, Ferrer was in another one of these lopsided Grand Slam semifinals, only winning 5 games against Nadal in the 2012 French Open. He and Johan Kriek are the only players to be on the losing end of two of these routs.

Perhaps, most amazingly, Bjorn Borg won 3 of these matches (no other player has won more than 1).

Kick a guy when he's down why don't ya?
Those are bad match ups for Ferrer. Had he played Delpo or someone he would have done better.

I was thinking the same last night. I've never seen anyone destroyed that badly in 2 different slam semis. The gap between the top 4(including Nadal) is still as big as ever.

Just for the record, Nadal is no longer one of the "top 4". I know many people think this isn't the "real" ranking because he's been out for so long but them's the breaks. He may never come back.
