I'm assuming the schedule is:

Day 1

1. Jo-Wilifried Tsonga vs 2. Benjamin Becker
2. Gael Monfils vs 1. Philipp Kohlschreiber

Day 2

Gabashivili/Kunitsyn vs Paes/Bopanna

Day 3

1. Jo-Wilifried Tsonga vs 1. Phillip Kohlschreiber
2. Gael Monfils vs 2. Benjamin Becker

Gael is up a set and just broke back is the second. It's looking good so far.

I usually root for Kohli but this is a case where I can't.

Instant score 1-6 3-3, Kohli to serve.

Gael wins the second set 6-4. Can he clinch his first DC win today?

Yes he can. He got a bit tight in the end, missing a sitter FH on his first MP, but he converts the second one. 6-3 6-4 7-6(5).

Jo serving for the 1st set against Becker @5-3.

Great defense from Becker on the first SP but he lost the point eventually. Jo up a set.

Jo up a break in the 2nd. 2-4, Becker to serve.

Jo said in an interview before the tie that he was "hungry". Well he looks like it indeed. He's now up a double break and serving for the set @5-2.

Worried looks on the Germans' faces.

Back home just in time to see the last couple of games of this 2nd rubber. Great serving display from Jo to close it out in 4 even though Becker saved 2 MPs on his own serve.

The doubles team Llodra/Benneteau should seal the deal tomorrow.

(1-FRA) Jo-Wilfried Tsonga def. (2-GER) Benjamin Becker 6-3 6-2 6-7 (2) 6-3
(2-FRA) Gael Monfils def. (1-GER) Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-1 6-4 7-6 (5)

France has the break 2-0

"France always seemed favourites to beat Germany, and it’s hard to see the Germans coming back after the French took at 2-0 lead on the opening day in Toulon. The crucial victory was Gael Monfils's first Davis Cup by BNP Paribas defeat of Germany’s No. 1 Philipp Kohlschreiber, with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's four sets win over Benjamin Becker following the formbook.

History is now brutally against the visitors. It’s 50 years since Germany last came from 0-2 adrift to win (that was against Czechoslovakia in the amateur era), and it’s 72 years since Germany last beat France. Nothing on show on the opening day suggested either streak is about to end. ..."
