Cheers to you and the rest confirming - don't watch much doubles on the regular tour, but this one I'm looking forward to!
Yes.

Tsonga/Gasquet? That would be a surprise. I think Benny is by far their best doubles player.
Word is that it's Gasquet-Benne no? That would make the most sense - and Tsonga + Monfils would both be fully rested for Sunday then

Nope French journos have Tsonga-Gasquet. Still dunno for the Swiss. Fedrinka were training against Chiudilammer this morning.

Line-up confirmed. Yep not sure about JWT he was a mess yesterday...but then Fed was as well...plus they haven't been successful in DC dubs with Wawa.

Real question is if Mirka will be there?
Now the French have changed back to Benny/Gasquet.

Quit this Mirka BS they're on the same team.

Victory ... Federstan...Not sure Tsonga ....
Time for a fun Geo lesson.
Federstan is a small former soviet republic nestled in the high desert between Caucasus and the badback mountains, right? Kind of near kreplachistan and the other -stans.
Rogerstan is in the northwestern part of India, i believe.
Tsonga is a small island in the south Specific ocean.

Oh, and i have not been this pumped for a dubs match i am not actually playing...or in the stands. Love dubs, especially college or DC!

Thanks to you fochers in this thread and the davis cup site, i feel like i am in lille, about to have petit dejeuner and go to the stade. Actually, i am about to play some dubs, then come home for lunch in front of the television.

Chum jetze, Fedrinka!
Yes, as much as i love french tennis, i am rooting for the fedistani army. The rogerstani rebels. The fed-rinka-haddeen.

Interesting Clément listened to his brain rather than his heart. He has, so far in his mandate, been going with his gut feeling more than "analysis". Tsonga said in interviews that he wanted to "make up" for yesterday's loss as soon as possible and generally Clément reacts positively to this kind of talk. That last minute change is for me unexpected from him.

Yes, Rogeristan has extended it's borders and conquered Tsongastan and entered a treaty with Wawrinkastan. Renamed, Federstan, they are a cocky lot. Hopefully they will underestimate the French rogues at their door this afternoon. :)

Yes but I think it's the right choice. JWT really sounded desperate yesterday in the post-match interview. Not even mentioning his awkward comments about lack of support from the crowd.

Hopefully his logical choice will work out.

Well frankly, it also has to do with the repartition in the stadium of the crowd. Basically in front rows you get invited peoples. So the partners and sponsors, who often don't give a damn about watching tennis as much as being on TV/camera, which is why the front rows of Lenglen or Chatrier are empty during the first week of Roland (or even until the semis). Then the Swiss federation places where their supporters and spectators are. So in short, French support was in the top of the stadium getting the cheapest tickets possible, scattered in the whole stadium. Which is one of the reasons why Tsonga didn't hear much.

Secondly, the French sport amateur in general very, very easily bashes his/her own players if they don't play well. On the top of that I ashamed to admit it, but "we" are turncoats. So basically when you play well you get support and if you don't you get nothing. And considering Tsonga's level of play yesterday, he got much less support than Monfils did for example. And Monfils indeed praised the crowd. And it's the exact same with every single sport and especially football (not handegg), where support comes only when you win and when you loose or perform below par you get whistled.

I'm currently reading a French article where the journalists went to ask the opinions of Swiss (and French) supporters who pretty much confirm it. If someone is interested and can read/listen to French here it is.

EDIT: and I mean thousands of tickets handed to partners/VIPs/sponsors who literally don't care about tennis for the most part.

Hmmm I wonder what Tsonga would be thinking, he seems eager to play the doubles but Clement didn't let him. I think he'll be relatively down emotionally tmr and Fed has a chance.

i really dont understand this rule that permits only 2 players to play the whole matches including doubles

this is supposed to be a team of 4 right?

i guess its because of this no one really cares about davis cup, i mean yes its more exciting seeing fed and stan playing together than those other 2 no one knows their names of, but for the spirit of the cup itself i think they should play, by the rules using all the members of the team

Chanwan : Is it safe to install the Media Player HD on that site ?
I would NOT install ANYTHING from these sites, nasty business that.

Just give em 2 mins, or wait for a little "x" appear that let you close the ads, it will pop up a new browser window, but just keep closing em.

I'm watching that 1 now, happy for an English stream.
