I hope versus is as good as ESPN, but I've never watched that channel. I'll tape the matches, then watch them when I get back, hoping to see myself.

Anyone else going?

Hey thanks Fee. Friday thank God I set the DVR, since I am away from home.

They complain that top players are not committed to Davis Cup. Why don't they convince the networks first that it is relevant?

Who is going to see and know about this Davis Cup final on U.S. home soil shown on vesus TV, how many people have heard and can see this channel? Very few.

Fee, I *love* your avatar with Nole, how cute.

Thank you tangerine. :)

Versus was the Outdoor Life Network before they changed their name. It has been included on basic cable for years, usually somewhere near the Country Music Channel or Spike. I would bet that a lot of people have the channel, but usually just skip right past the fishing shows and lumberjack contests. It's the same network that showed the Tour de France this past summer.

Comcast owns the Versus network & has worked out a deal with Tennis Channel to cover the USA live with the repeats on Tennis channel. The tennis broadcast arein line with Tennis Channel or ESPN broadcast..

On my DirectTV, this is a extra-pay channel. I can't see it.

On second thought, that Cable owns it explains why it is hard to see on satellite.

Live streams are rarely announced in advance, but I'm seeing whisperings that TVU might have it. I would just be ready before play starts with Sopcast and whatever else, then search the usual places for links and whatnot (channelsurfing.net, tennisform.com, and others). Also, I'm sure if anyone finds a link once play starts, they will post it here or in the thread in the Match results section. :)

Thanks so much Fee. I was about to get really pissed off when I checked TV guide and flipped through all the channels while they were playing and found that they were as usual not showing Davis Cup on cable here. They also did not show any of the fall masters series or the Masters Cup.

I'm happy that the tennis channel is trying to cover more events, but if they are not going to be a part of basic cable, they should not even bother and let someone else do the coverage.

You must be one of those people who have Versus Channel on the Sports tier. That sucks, I think they have the DC contract next year as well.

I don't know, but it seems like they don't show any tennis on cable here outside of the majors. I used to be able to watch Masters Series, Masters Cup, and even the final rounds of some smaller tournaments on cable in NY and NJ.

ESPN dropped the Masters Series events except for the 4 in the US, but if you have ESPN2 you should be able to see a fair amount of tennis during the summer leading up to the US Open. ESPN2 showed the Masters Cup final twice a day (once in the pre dawn hours, and once during the late morning/realy afternoon), so I'm not sure how you missed that. Fox Sports shows one or two tournaments, but they program regionally so some regions will get it and other won't.

You should go to www.zap2it.com and get the customized listings for your cable system. Once you've done that, you can search for tennis and then you'll always know if it is going to be shown in your area.
