Tough to bet against Blake considering he has a 4-0 record against Davydenko. These guys haven't met since Sydney earlier this year. I like Blake to win in straight sets.
 
I'm going With James in 3 sets... only b/c we all know how hard a worker Davydenko is on the court. If he can get into the long rallies and scrap out some points he'll make it tough for James.

Altho if James comes out firing and doesn't get down on himself then I wouldn't be surprised if he takes the match in two!

Blake has always had a few problems against Robredo (got stomped at the Australian Open), so it's crucial that he beats Davydenko.
 
this is a hard call. Davy is a very steady player.
Blake must play as well as he did against Nadal, aggressively yet without too many UE, then he can win the game. If he makes too many UE, he can't beat Davy.
 
I'm from the UK and this is being shown live on Sky Sports Xtra, would anyone like live scoring posted on here ? I'll do my best.
 
Okay, players coming on court now, starting warm-up play has been delayed due to a doubles match on beforehand overrunning but underway shortly.
 
Second game, first set. Davydenko to serve. Davydenko goes 0-40 down on his own serve. But recovers well to take Blake to a Deuce game. A back-and-forth Deuce game. But Blake eventually breaks back to level the game 1-1
 
blake has wasted four game points in the second game already: and he is down a break.
it is early, yes, but maan, you gotta take these chances.

there is something called complacence when playing against someone you have beaten 4 times before.........and it can be dangerous.
 
Fourth game, first set. Davydenko to serve. No-one has yet to hold there serve in ths set. Blake takes the game to Deuce. Davydenko having 4 points to hold his serve on Deuce but did not win any of them. Blake taking the game and breaking back the serve 2-2.
 
Fifth game, first set. Jame Blake to serve. Before this game Jame Blake had only won 3 points on hs own serve. Davydenko again breaks Blakes serve to lead the set 3-2 no-one is still to hold their serve in this set
 
Sixth game, First set. Davydenko to serve. Neither player are serving great at the moment with few first serves going in. Davydenko holds his serve for the first time in the game to lead 4-2 (40-15)
 
Seventh game, first set. James Blake to serve. Blake wins the first 3 points of the game to go 40-0 up in the gane, but Davydenko claws it back to take it to Deuce. Blake having problems holding serve. and is now 5-2 down in the first set. Davydenko to serve for the first set.

Eigth game, first set. Davydenko 5-2 up and now serving for the first set with new balls. Davydenko wins the game and the first set comftably with the first love service game (40-0) Davydenko takes the first set 6-2

But recovers well, to lead 40-15 Davydenko wins a challenge on the Blake serve the ball was out by just a fraction. Davydenko doing very well on the challenges in this match. Davydenko challenges the next point in the game as well, and wins the challenge again!! to take the game to Deuce. Davydenko eventually takes the game to break the serve and lead 1-0 in the Second set.
 
Second game, second set. Blake so far has lost 5 consecutive service games in this match. Davydenko now service 1-0 up in the second set. Davydenko taking the first two points of the service game to lead 30-0 but Blake comes back to 30-30. The next to points are shared to take the game to Deuce. Davydenko wins the game on Deuce to lead the second set 2-0
 
This match convinced me that Davydenko is the best returner in the game today!!!
Blake has just won 10/31 points on his serve! :eek:

Ok - I don't get to watch this for another hour, but can someone tell me how a professional tennis player gets broken FIVE times in a row? Is he serving abysmally?

I mean - it's not as if this is world number 1 against world number 100....
 
Third game, second set. James Blake to serve. Blake holds serve for the first time in the match a love service game (40-0) but is still behind to Davydenko in the second set 2-1.
 
Fourth game, second set. Davydenko to serve. James Blake starting to show signs of desperation out there at the moment. Not playing well. Davydenko holds serve. 40-0 Davydenko leads the second set 3-1.
 
WHAT A RALLY!! This rally shows the way this match is going Blake trying everything, but Davy gets every ball back. Tremendous pace from both!
 
Fifth game, second set. James Blake to serve. First point on the serve a very long rally between the two players, which Davydenko takes. James Blake threw everything at him in that point was unable to beat the Davydenko return. James Blake faces double break point But recovers to take the game to Deuce. Blake holds serve maybe a turning point for Blake but is still behind 3-2 in the second set.
 
Sixth game, second set. Davydenko to serve. Davydenko still playing well. and takes the game, another love service game from Davydenko (40-0) to lead 4-2. Davydenko's third love service game of the match.
 
Seventh game, Second set. James Blake to serve. Blake starting to play a little better and win more points on his serve. Blake still does not look like the same person who beat Nadal on Monday. But holds serve in the game and now is 4-3 down. But having already lost the first set Blake must break back soon if he still wants to win this game.
 
Eigth game, second set. Davydenko to serve, a set and a break up. Davydenko loses the first two points on his serve (0-30) but wins the next point. (15-30) However, he drops the next point to give Blake two break points. Blake converts and is back in the set 4-4 second set.
 
Ninth game, second set. James Blake seems to be back on form playing totally different to how he was earlier. Davydenko could be in trouble here with everything going Blakes way now. The match seems to have turned. Maybe Blake has rememberd he is 4-0 against Davydenko in head-to-head meetings. James Blake holds serve again (40-15) to lead the set 4-5.
 
Tenth Game, Second set. Davydenko now serving to stay in the second set! Good service game requred from Davydenko now. Davydenko wins the first two points of the service game (30-0) but Blake comes back to tie-up at (30-30) Blake wins the next point, (30-40) and gives himself set point!! what a turnaroind!! James Blake converts and takes the second set 4-6, all square one set all now.
