Define better player. Davydenko is more elegant. Med looks clumsy but he has more firepower.Who is a better player and which of the two russians is more bs?

I like Davydenko when he was on his game he was a joy to watch but his overall win rate of 59% sums him up, Med is the better player
That's a pretty shocking stat for someone who won 21 titles, the ATP finals and 3 Masters. I guess when he was on, he was on and not much in between.
Medvedev has an awful lot of trouble beating 80-year-old Nadal on hardcourt....

Davydenko's game needed fine-tuning and he treated lesser events as practice. Still he managed to be consistent in non-grass slams in his prime except 2008.That's a pretty shocking stat for someone who won 21 titles, the ATP finals and 3 Masters. The same 80 year old who lost to a 90 year old that yearMedvedev has an awful lot of trouble beating 80-year-old Nadal on hardcourt....

The only appropriate answer for a thread like this one. Lol
I liked Davynko a lot with his rhythmic aggressive game, taking the ball on the rise and clean ball-striking, but the problem for him was much more about peaking at the right tournaments than the strength of his opposition. The same happened to Nalbandian (although more frequently), who would sometimes play magical tennis for a tournament or two, but start losing to low-ranked players left and right after.Davydenko is better. Meddy is more right time and place. I am not saying Meddy is bad but Davydenko plied his trade in a very strong era in which his peers said he played PlayStation tennis. I don’t think many have such flattering things to say about Medvedev’s tennis.

Below are some of his losses in Grand Slams during his top 10 years. He also had losses to Gasquet and Mayer in USO2010 and AO2011, respectively. Davydenko certainly played in a stronger from 2008 onwards than Med, but many of his slam losses did not happen against the strongest opponents. He also played some subpar matches against Federer, always faltering when he had chances to get in front.

For now, it is very hard to compare both of them because Medvedev should have many years ahead of him, but his dominance over most of the tour on hard courts is something Davydenko never actually had. Maybe the biggest difference is their serve, which allows Medvedev's level to fluctuate more without risking many upsets.
I mean 3 of those matches are super closeMedvedev has an awful lot of trouble beating 80-year-old Nadal on hardcourt....

Matchups?? Of course the early hitting Davy matches up better against Rafa than the plays-miles-behind MedDavydenko beat peak Nadal many times
Medvedev lost to geriatric 86 years old Nadal
Enough said
Can you even imagine what the score would look on clay??Medvedev has an awful lot of trouble beating 80-year-old Nadal on hardcourt....
