Days since Federer disclosed the nature of his knee injury/surgery: 0 and counting...

I have a naturally suspicious mind, I always read between the lines and always assume there is a selfish motivation that people are trying to conceal.

I'm a huge Fedfan but he doesn't escape those tendencies
Lol it actual BS to force him to reveal what he has done to his knee. He had a surgery...i don't think he is better than Nole to fake an injury ??? I mean why he would do that specially when he is about to retire with in a year or two.

Too much doubt is dangerous. He was on crutches. He made an appearance in Laver Cup just for the sponsors and the crowd.

I demand to see all the X-rays and hospital documents relating to his injury. I want to have a call with his doctor so that he could explain to me his prognosis and healing progress.
And his long-form birth certificate while they're at it. For all we know, he's not even actually Swiss...

44 days have gone by since the announcement and we still don't know what kind of operation it was, which part of the knee, or heck, what the problem actually is with his knee. I don't even know which knee he injured and got operated on, I refuse to study his posture with crutches at LC.

After all the press exposure and media events he has done since, with Laver Cup and all, hasn't one reporter asked him already?

I don't understand why he would keep this a secret this much. It's not like he needs to hide it from competition because he'd give away competitive advantage.

All we know.. all we've ever known is... it's a "knee injury needing a knee surgery". That's all folks.

Since when did pros tell everyone such details? I recall that recently some information about Nadal's foot came out but that seemed like an exception to me. I don't remember hearing much about Djokovic's elbow, for example.

Rafa was born with an anomaly of a tarsal bone in the left foot. It has been a well known fact since it started to bother him at the age of 19 (in 2005). He talks about it in his autobiography, "Rafa: My Story", published in 2010. He was told he might never be able to play tennis again. Fed devotees have laughed at that career-threatening injury for years.

The first bionic knees? He'll be faster...stronger... part man, part machine.

Wonder if he did some kind of cartilage regeneration surgery on his knees.

Cartilage Regeneration Options
Membrane-induced Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation (MACI)
MACI is a surgical procedure that uses cartilage-forming cells from your body to restore damaged cartilage in the knees. It involves a biopsy to harvest chondrocytes (cartilage-forming cells), which are allowed to multiply in a lab, and surgery to implant them into the damaged area.

Our experts use a small-punch biopsy method for cell collection, rather than a more invasive arthroscopic procedure. This approach combines two surgeries into one, reducing recovery time and cost.

Osteochondral Grafting
Osetochondral grafting is a cartilage regeneration procedure that replaces not only the cartilage but the underlying bone as well. It is often used when the cartilage is worn down to the bone. The healthy bone and cartilage used for the surgery (graft) can come from a donor (allograft) or from other areas of your body (autograft).

Osteoarticular Transfer System (OATS) Procedure
The OATS procedure, also called mosaicplasty, involves taking healthy cartilage from non-weight-bearing areas of the joint and transplanting it into the damaged areas. Because the transfer happens within the same joint, this procedure works best for small areas of damaged cartilage. Joints significantly affected by osteoarthritis may require a different approach. Since your own tissue is used, the OATS procedure eliminates risks related to allergy or transplant rejection.

Osteotomy
Osteotomy is a surgical procedure that involves cutting and/or reshaping the bone. This procedure often takes place alongside other cartilage regeneration methods. In the knee, osteotomy could be used to shift the weight off the damaged part of the joint to a healthier one, as well as to restore the joint alignment.

I haven't read his autobiography and the recent info was the first I heard of it. Anyway, my point stands: most pros don't give us details of their injuries.

He has been incredibly hush hush about being the first billionaire tennis player too...Why would he not be more forthcoming about this? Why? Why?
I demand to see his bank statements and tax returns!

Not like Fed is saying "I have an injury on a part of the body that is used for running and playing shots in tennis"

We already know it's the knee...What do you expect him to do?....live stream his knee surgery???

I'm presuming years of playing tennis has taken it's toll on his knees, he's been sliding, running like a jaguar since 1998....what do people expect? Federer isn't an indestructible robot.

It's not tendonitis as there are non-invasive methods to tend to that.

We shouldn’t conflate Federer’s crutches and surgery with his return to the tour. He may have just had the surgery so he can live as healthy and mobile a life as possible outside of being a pro player. When he retires he’s not going to stop playing tennis. He also probably likes running round with his kids, hill walking. Swimming.

it's a secret, denying players any advantage over him at wimbledon 2022.......similar to carlsen saving the evan's gambit line for the world chess championship match later this year against nepo.......

So we’re questioning a 40 year old’s body giving out on him when trying to play at the highest level of the sport? What’s the conspiracy, aging isn’t real?
