It's really so strange why they keep publishing that racquet with so low swingweight 308...
To whom are they focus on? Only to the "custom" guys? Or to the kids?

It's a pro stock type of frame meant to be customized. 4g of lead at 12 and 3 in the butt and you have a damn fine stick on your hands.

I think the point was...it's almost 12 ounces strung. So with such a low swing weight those who like a heavy racquet that's still really head light and a high swing weight, it starts to make I hard to achieve that. The racquet should be low 11's strung.

Since most like this racquet because of the feel...I wonder if the new ones going to lose that wonderful old school feel.

If you use the setup I mentioned you will have a 11.9oz racquet 7pts HL and 324SW. Not too shabby.

Interesting....i will admit ..a leather handle to add some weight and some lead in the hoop...im betting this is a great racket. Well done TF for having some classic old school specs.. I think I'm gonna try one of these...never hit with this brand...but the specs and comments here..caught my attention.

The last gen is awesome. And already comes with a leather grip. Bummed this one doesn't.

Had really considered this racquet to try, but instead decided to order one of the new Srixon / Dunlop frames. Played with a couple of different Dunlops back in the day. I'm partial to their feel.
I used to play the M-fil 200. Loved it.

Lots of interesting racquets coming out

I have a feeling Tecnifibre just realized that at least two other companies were releasing racquets very similar to that concept so they quickly decided "LET'S RERELEASE THE 315 LTD IN THE NEW COSMETIC! QUICKLY!"

DC is supposed to add more flex to the frame, not take away.
Who ever told you that? Dynacore is a flexible material yes but it is used by Tecnifibre to add stability. Stability is the state of being stable.

synonyms for stability are: firmness, solidity, steadiness, strength, security, and others

I have never thought the flex of the new LTD would be as flexible as the Limited version. I never knew what the flex numbers would be but never dreamed they would be as low as the Limited unless they start taking something out..

So 4 grams total @ 3&9 will do the trick? Any at 12? Counter balancing the same amount in the handle? Do I have it correct? I have a new one sitting around that I want to use. I don't get why Tec wouldn't increase the SW a bit, so that I don't have to do the (*guess) work.

I wish I could have been a fly on the wall when all the design went into the new LTD frame. I doubt they just took the old layup and added a few strands of Dynacore and put a new paint job on it.

"New to this update is Dynacore, a uniquely flexible material that is designed to give the TFight DC 315 a more stable feel at impact. Factor in the thin beam and flexible layup and the result is a modern player's racquet with a wonderfully classic and buttery feel."

I don't mind more stable feel if it is already buttery. A stiff blade can be also unstable, so stability does not translate 100% to stiffness. Flexible stable frame is fine. So increased stiffness probably comes from the shift in the balance and polarization.

Ok let's argue about what marketing really is! The new frame measures stiffer and I like it. Actually I like the older Limited 16M and I like the newer 16M and to be honest I can't tell much different except for the grip. End of argument.

Speaking for Ltd 315 18x20, adding extra weight doesn't work for me...
The racquet became too stiff (in the play of course, not in the RDC) and lost the nice feel it had before the customization.
I know that Ltd supposed to be "pro stock" type frame, but when you customise it turns to an ordinary stick...

That's why I said that Technifibre must fix the two basic Ltds problems (instability / low twistweight +/-13.5 and low swingweight / but sluggish feel far from 308 sw value) - but (and that the crucial !! ) keeping the same wonderful "factory"-feel.

Additionally, as langdon0555 said, 11.7 oz static is too much for a real pro stock racquet.

Now regarding DC 315 LTD, I wonder if this 62 flex from the 20 mm frame is real...
I look at other DC models and all of them are +/-68, for a little more thick 22.5mm shaft.

In my opinion it is quite heavy to be a platform frame. It is so polarized you don't really have the option to customize it the way you want. This one is gonna be a depolarized frame no matter what. Not my type but I'm sure some will like it.

I think the Ultra tour is a much better platform frame.

just gotta add your own weight to the hoop. not sure where you end up overall after getting to a decent SW.

I guess I'd agree (I prefer polarized setups). Still nice to see Tecnifibre bringing it back though, plus they have the 16M option for those that prefer that (not me but still).

I just noticed this while scrolling through TW! Seems like pretty much the same thing as the original 315 LTD. What do y'all think?

http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Tecnifibreracquets.html

How does this stick, in both string patterns, compare to the pure control 95 and pro kennex redondo MP? I'm a big fan of both sticks, but liked the feel of the pure control 95 (pure storm ltd) more.

I'm tempted by the 16x19 315 ltd. I'm a 4.5 with a big whippy forehand just coming back after a few years off needing new gear.

If you want to add weight to the handle can you get into the buttcap (from image doesn’t look like it) or would you have to put on the handle (under the grip) or take the buttcap off?

My PK didn't have a trapdoor buttcap, so I added weight at the bottom by gluing a quarter to it using double sided tape, the one with foam backing.

I've only hit with the Redondo once for a few minutes and same with the 315 LTD, so I don't think I can give a fair comparison. However, based on specs and reviews, the 315 should be a bit less flexy feeling than the 95.

The Redondo feels like a classic low powered players frame. It's 100% graphite and I think has an old school feel that might not be suited for the modern game.

I feel like the Redondo is very similar to the PC95 but higher powered, so if you can play with the 95 the Redondo should work out fine.

Actually, it does everything surprising well. Just can’t get a good 1st serve with this racquet. I tried a variety of things and it just can’t serve big. My first serve had to be the best 2nd serve i could get so immediately go to a kick or twist serve

Thanks guys!

How much more powerful is the 16x19 compared to those frames? I hit the ball with a lot of spin and have been able to generate heavy spin with both the pc95 and redondo (which is a very spin friendly frame imo).

I wouldn't mind a little more power with a thin beam and flexible hoop. I could use the power on my backhand side playing defense.

Also, is the 315 ltd a true 98 inch frame?

Thanks guys!

The DC frames are big. The 98" head is basically a 100" frame; the 95" is basically a 98". They're powerful frames. Odd balance though, and a little uncontrollable.

The ltd? Wanted to make sure we were talking about the same frame?

Thanks!

I had all of them. Ltd 315 has nothing common with pure 95 and redondo 98. These two can be played stock and they are super stable, contrary to ltd which wants weight on 9-3. Ltd has more power than other two...

Perfect, this is exactly what I needed to know. I'm out on this then. I'm not into customizing except for always adding a leather grip.

Thanks!

I doubt you have had a 315 LTD, you probably have it confused with the 315 Limited
