Dead poly/poly hybrids

Wanted to ask people's experience with dead strings when hybriding 2 different polys. If a stiff poly goes dead, they usually become stiffer and you're playing with an arm breaking board. If you play with a soft poly, they become slingshots when they go dead. So if you hybrid a stiff poly and a soft poly, won't they semi offset each other to make a semi playable string bed when dead?

When I get around to doing a full bed of rpm rough will let you know. But in theory I bought in to that idea with my current setup and playability is really good until the strings break.

Would you put the stiffer string in the mains or crosses?

I usually hybrid poly with the stiffer string in the crosses to stop them notching but seem to get really good life out of PTSG/PTF, which has stiffer mains. Interesting question! I think string at high tension goes dead differently to the same string strung at low tension. High tension makes poly string go wirey whereas low tension poly goes loose but still hold some spring. I think that’s another factor at play.
